| | Queen Latifah All Hail The Queen CD Queen Latifah Discography of CDs
Emerging from East Orange, NJ in the days when hip-hop gear meant kente cloth & afrika medallions àand fellow Native Tongues were achieving cross-over success on "Yo! MTV Raps" (guest appearances from De La Soul & Monie Love show a strong Native Tongues connection which eventually faded as the Queen placed more focus on developing her own Flavor Unit posse), Latifah added a more explicit afro-centric edge to the common sense feminism pioneered by MC Lyte and Roxanne Shante. She also added a more eclectic cross-section of sounds to their palette of samples. After briefly providing beat-box for the all-girl crew Ladies Fresh, she made her name as a solo artist with the reggae hook of "Wrath of My Madness" in 1988. While overall her debut LP relies on the sounds of break-beat legend Mark The 45 King, exceptions to the rule include a harder edged track contributed by KRS-ONE ("Evil That Men Do"), heavy rockers-style reggae laced by Daddy-O of Stetsasonic ("The Pros"), and a token house track ("Come Into My House"). Occasionally dated, ALL HAIL THE QUEEN nevertheless contains enough gems ("Latifah's Law," "Ladies First," "Wrath Of My Madness") to stand alongside any classic LP of its era.

All Hail The Queen album
$15.95 R. was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best R&B Album. "I'm Your Angel" was nominated for the 1999 Grammy Award for Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals. "When A Woman's Fed Up" was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance.
R. Kelly proves that he's as prolific as he is talented on the two-disc set R., which not only culls together his most noteworthy and successful work, but is bursting with new tracks as well. Filled from start to finish with Kelly's unique blend of smooth vocal stylings and no-nonsense lyrical stance, this album also features the work of a few of his prominent friends--the opener, "Home Alone" sports a guest rap courtesy of Keith Murray, while "Money Makes The World Go Round" is graced by Nas.
A more mainstream pairing is witnessed in the dramatic show stopper "I'm your Angel," which finds Kelly alongside superstar Celine Dion, but the collaboration which really makes its mark is "We Ride," which features Cam'Ron, Noreaga, Jay-Z and Vegas Cats in a veritable who's who of Hip Hop's brightest stars. As if all this weren't enough, the mega-hit "I Believe I Can Fly" is included for good measure. Newcomers to the world of R. Kelly will be attracted ...
| | Jay-Z Dynasty: Roc La Familia 2000 CD (2000)
All Hail The Queen CD music
$10.79 "Change The Game" was nominated for the 2002 Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group.
Jay-Z released REASONABLE DOUBT, his solo debut, in 1996. Only four years later, he dropped his fifth album, THE DYNASTY. Matching his unique off-beat delivery with hip-hop's most impressive lyrics, the Brooklyn-native reinforces the idea that he is one of rap's most profound MCs. Once again, Jay-Z shows us he knows about "big pimpin'" with tracks like "I Just Wanna Love U (Give It 2 Me)" and "Parking Lot Pimpin'," tales about the fast life, women, and money.
Still, the rapper doesn't abandon the street ethics that have made him famous, as evident on the hustler's anthem "Streets Is Talking." Limiting the guest appearances to a minimum, besides his Roc-a-fella camp, he is joined by heavy hitters such as Snoop Dogg on "Get Your Mind Right Mami" and R. Kelly on "Guilty Until Proven Innocent." Inspiring other rappers to think deeply before they put their pen to the pad, Jay-Z keeps getting better, and ...

All Hail The Queen album
$16.39 Al Lindsey returns to the scene with the highly anticipated followup to his smash CD Caught. The hot single Call Me from his new CD So In Love is already on several playlist. The CD itself is receiving rave reviews from critics all over. Al, with his smokey-smooth delivery, is sounding better than ever.Bluescritic January 2008 New CD Review...Back in 2005 husky-voiced Al Lindsey appeared out of nowhere with a fresh (and refreshing sound) for the Southern Soul genre with "Caught". Despite being independent...Lindsey was still able to attract plenty of attention by virtue of strong material and tight production by Simeo. His Marvin Gaye homage 'Candlelight" ...
