Kid Rock Devil Without a Cause CD (1998)
Whitey Ford Sings the Blues songs In the grand tradition of Faith No More, Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc. genre-hopper Kid Rock chooses to lay down his raps over a bed of rock-oriented electric guitar riffs instead of traditional hip-hop tracks and beats. Unlike the aforementioned groups though, Kid Rock comes off more like an adventurous hip-hopper than a rocker with a Public Enemy jones. In an effort to prove himself as "street" as his more conventional rap peers, Rock combines his rockish arrangements with gangsta-derived lyrics full of boasts and sexual braggadocio. DEVIL WITHOUT A CAUSE will appeal to both rock fans in search of something different and hip-hop listeners who like a little rock in their rap.

Goo Goo Dolls Dizzy up the Girl CD (1998) Top Seller
Whitey Ford Sings the Blues buy CD music "Iris" was nominated for a 1999 Grammy for Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal. "Black Balloon" was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal.
On first hearing, the Goo Goo Dolls sound like the Replacements' distant cousins, full of trashy rock bravado tempered by intelligent, often tender lyricism and a penchant for combining ringing acoustic guitars with dirtier sounds for a rich sonic stew. In fact, DIZZY UP THE GIRL finds the Dolls moving further away from the Replacements sound than ever before, with a definite '90s influence to the proceedings. The group's main link to the Replacements (and to Paul Westerberg's main influence, Alex Chilton) is the man-child dichotomy played out over the course of the album. The youthful, energetic spirit that makes DIZZY UP THE GIRL an exciting bit of rock & roll is matched at every step by a world-weariness that gives the jangly alt-rock tunes an air of maturity.
Includes 2 Exclusive Bonus Tracks 'Name' & 'Slave Girl'.

Offspring Americana CD (1998) Top Seller
Whitey Ford Sings the Blues album for sale This is an Enhanced audio CD, which contains regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files.
AMERICANA continues the contradiction fostered by the Offspring with IXNAY ON THE HOMBRE; that of an anarchistic punk band signing up with and using the resources of a mighty recording industry monolith. Diatribes aside, these southern California punks have continued concocting breakneck-paced songs that combine intelligent lyrics with rapid-fire rhythms and shredding guitar.
Going beyond their punk credentials means the Offspring mix in a few curves that keep the listener guessing. "Why Don't You Get A Job" uses horns and a steel drum to underline misgivings about awarding alimony for either sex. "Pay the Man" uses Middle Eastern chord changes to achieve an Arabic feel that eventually gives way to a punkier arrangement. Even on"Feelings," the schmaltzy lounge lizard anthem, Dexter Holland's style of spitting out the words gives the slight number new life. The cleverly wrought "Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)" looks at white kids emulating an inner-city life style through the prism of daytime talk shows. Despite this experimentation, the Offspring cling to their punk roots with a steadfast determination that defines songs dealing with the pitfalls of growing up in the '90s ("The Kids Aren't Alright") and the emotional baggage brought into relationships ("She's Got Issues").
Recorded at Eldorado Recording Studio, Burbank, California.

Eminem Slim Shady LP CDs (1999)
Whitey Ford Sings the Blues CD music THE SLIM SHADY LP won the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. "My Name Is" was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance.
You'll need a well-developed sense of humor to fully appreciate the debut of Eminem aka Slim Shady. Produced by hip-hop super-producer Dr. Dre and released on Dre's Aftermath Records, the album features an infectious lead single, "My Name Is," a winning mixture of alternative rock and rap. One listen will have you hooked on the chorus, but future plays will reveal the lyrical gymnastics that Eminem kicks out so effortlessly.
Obsessed with fantasies of sex, violence, drugs, and a general depraved indifference to life itself, Eminem's alter ego, Slim Shady, is constantly involved in a battle of good vs. evil leavened by a high degree of irony. Dre even drops in on an mind-blowing cameo playing the shoulder angel on "Guilty Conscience" to Eminem's devil. You'll need a few listens to absorb everything that Eminem is about lyrically. SLIM SHADY might offend the faint-hearted, but that's probably Eminem's intention.

Eat at Whitey's CD (2000) Top Seller
Whitey Ford Sings the Blues songs For the follow-up to his breakthrough solo album WHITEY FORD SINGS THE BLUES, the former House Of Pain member continues solidifying the bridge between the worlds of rock and rap. This time out, Everlast revisits his hip-hop roots with a vengeance by loading up this 13-track opus up with plenty of jeep-worthy beats and matter-of-fact, lyrical flow. Setting the pace early on is the minute-and-a-half opening track "Whitey," which finds the gruff-sounding Irishman reasserting his lyrical prowess over a zig-zagging cello.
Menacing strings make an appearance on dark inner city tales like "Deadly Assassins" (featuring Cypress Hill's B-Real) and "Graves to Dig," a slow-rolling eulogy to all those cut down by gunfire in their prime. Everlast is at his best spewing out narratives, as on the ultra-funky "Children's Story," a duet with The Roots' Rahzel which tells of the tragic meeting between a strapped teen and an undercover cop. Not everything in this sumptuous banquet of beats is so grim, however; the tattooed rapper shows his soft side by featuring former Brand New Heavies vocalist N'Dea Davenport on the introspective funk of "One and the Same" and the romantic lament "Love For Real."
