For the follow-up to his breakthrough solo album WHITEY FORD SINGS THE BLUES, the former House Of Pain member continues solidifying the bridge between the worlds of rock and rap. This time out, Everlast revisits his hip-hop roots with a vengeance by loading up this 13-track opus up with plenty of jeep-worthy beats and matter-of-fact, lyrical flow. Setting the pace early on is the minute-and-a-half opening track "Whitey," which finds the gruff-sounding Irishman reasserting his lyrical prowess over a zig-zagging cello.
Menacing strings make an appearance on dark inner city tales like "Deadly Assassins" (featuring Cypress Hill's B-Real) and "Graves to Dig," a slow-rolling eulogy to all those cut down by gunfire in their prime. Everlast is at his best spewing out narratives, as on the ultra-funky "Children's Story," a duet with The Roots' Rahzel which tells of the tragic meeting between a strapped teen and an undercover cop. Not everything in this sumptuous banquet of beats is so grim, however; the tattooed rapper shows his soft side by featuring former Brand New Heavies vocalist N'Dea Davenport on the introspective funk of "One and the Same" and the romantic lament "Love For Real."

Everlast stays ahead of the game with this nearly-flawless follow-up to 1998's "Whitey Ford Sings The Blues." This installment from the white boy boasts blues-filled cuts such as "I Can't Move" "Mercy On My Soul" and "Graves To Dig", but he obviously hasn't forgotten his hip-hop roots as evidenced by tracks like "Deadly Assassins" and the uncompromising opener. Highly recommended to anyone who respects good music.

Best musical investment I made sinse Supernatural. The CD is full of soulful blues, hip hop styled blues and R&B flavored soul.....you name it you got it. It's amazing! It displays all the artistic integrity and creative bravery that I had come to expect from Everlast after Whitey Ford Sings the Blues and his collaborative work with Santana. Great CD!

Everlast, with "Eat at Whitey's" has set a new standard for music for years to come. First, you had "Forever Everlasting", Everlast's first solo release, back in the day with Ice-T; next came House of Pain (enough said); and now "Whitey Ford Sings the Blues" and "Eat at Whitey's". Throughout it all, Everlast finds new ways to grow musically and keep the fans begging for more! With songs like, "Black Jesus" and "Babylon Feeling" feat. Carlos Santana, there are no upset stomachs here; only the best food this side of the world!

I am a Fan of Everlast, but, this albulm is an insult to music, don't buy it, don't look at it, don't talk about it. Eat at Whiteys and get the runs!!

Cottage Industry Music is pleased to announce the release of Martha Schuyler Thompson's newest CD of twelve songs entitled, No Visible Means Of Support (her seventh on the independent label). Ultimately a collection of songs about faith and faithlessness, this mature and poignant body of work concerns itself with the myriad strengths and vulnerabilities experienced by human beings facing monumental losses, absences, profound vacancies and voids in the modern world. The album reveals Martha Schuyler Thompson as a contemporary writer in peak form flexing yet another new muscle; a hidden chamber of the human heart. Says Thompson, "I initially began writing songs for this album while living abroad in Ireland so certain pieces are set against a backdrop of the recent economic and technological booms there as well as the dissolution of the Church. For this reason also, much of the earlier work completed for the record deals with the theme of faith; however, I soon found that in order to adequately address the issue of faith in the modern world, I had to devote myself to the examination of faithlessness as well in subsequent pieces.
