The obscure Lee Brown was a pleasing blues-oriented singer and pianist who recorded seven sessions during 1937-1940 and two in 1946. The first six are reissued in full on this CD. Brown is accompanied by such major names on various tracks as guitarist Sleepy John Estes, trumpeters Charlie Shavers and Red Allen, clarinetist Buster Bailey, and pianists Sammy Price and Lil Armstrong (when Brown is not playing piano himself). The closest he came to a hit was "Little Girl Little Girl," which he remade in various ways a few times during his career. But, his enthusiasm aside, Lee Brown's recordings are actually most memorable for the supporting cast. ~ Scott Yanow
Contains 24 tracks.

Complete Recorded Works 1937 To January 1940 In Chronological Order. album
$6.69 Tone Status not your average brother rapping/half these brothers acting/they just study the script and then its lights camera action/Well if life’s like a movie im da f***ing main attraction" These bars might seem awkward coming from a man who's had mild success on the silver screen. But if you've ever met Tone Status, he does a very good job of separating real from fake. Coming up in Harlem amongst many notable rappers, Tone always dibbled and dabbled with 16's and hooks; however, he always wanted to do more than just rap. He wanted to go left, while everyone else went right. Tone shifted his energy into the streets. "Everything my peers were rapping about, I was really doing, that was always my edge over a lot of my peers growing up. Now embarking on a career in rap, Tone believes he has an edge on his competition in the music industry. "I truly believe I’m a better artist than most rappers with deals right now. Give me and 9 signed artists 12 beats from the top producers in the game and a week and i bet 7/10 people will say I put the best project together."Mr. Status is currently finishing up his debut album "Everybody Iz Watching, "which will be accompanied by a 60 minute videomentary slated for a Summer Release off his And What Entertainment Imprint. He's finally shifting his focus to recording music; however, Tone remains to be The Renaissance Man that everyone knows him as. With his busy music schedule, Tone still finds time to get featured in films and sitcoms, write screenplays, develop his artists, do community ...
