| | Twisted Sister Under The Blade CD Twisted Sister Discography of CDs
(3 Customer Reviews)
This is the album that started it all for Twisted Sister. With the group's classic lineup complete and producer Pete Way (of UFO and Waysted fame) at the helm, TS put to wax its early club material and in the process came up with one of the greatest hard-rock debuts ever.
"What You Don't Know (Sure Can Hurt You)," with its hypercharged metal riff, has been the band's concert-opener for years. "Bad Boys (Of Rock 'n' Roll)" is a testosterone-fueled singalong with a great hook and lead guitar lick. "Shoot 'Em Down," which received some airplay upon release, features the furious riffs and anthemic qualities that would characterize much of the band's material through the years. "Destroyer" is as heavy as heavy gets, while the title track was singled out by Tipper Gore's P.M.R.C. for being about sado-masochism and bondage (in reality, it's about guitarist Eddie Ojeda's throat operation). "I'll Never Grow Up Now!" is a rebellious teen anthem of independence. UNDER THE BLADE is for all die-hard metal aficionados and for those fans only familiar with "We're Not Gonna Take It."

Under The Blade album
$9.99 Although Twisted Sister's final studio album wasn't as commercially successful as its predecessors, it is still Twisted in every way and a great record. Released in 1987, the album took its cue from the cock-rock, pop-metal explosion happening at the time. But despite the obvious influence of this trend, the band retains it's heavy sound.
"Wake Up (The Sleeping Giant)" is a fist-pumping, angry tune given an added boost by new drummer Joey Franco, who's heavy pounding is reminiscent of John Bonham's. "Hot Love" has a Madonna-like feel to it, but with heavy guitars instead of the dance beat one might expect from the pop diva. The title track is a humorous, tongue-in-cheek cut, while ...

Under The Blade CD music
$8.59 Motley Crue may have been the glam metal kings of the '80s. But, for a while at least, Twisted Sister gave them heated competition. While the Crue and their L.A. cohorts (Ratt, Dokken, etc.) were dead-serious in their approach, Twisted Sister's music and videos always contained an element of humor-something most bands of ...
| | Dio Last In Line CD (1984)
Under The Blade music CDs
$6.09 Dio's 1984 follow-up, LAST IN LINE, benefited greatly from MTV's airing of the video clip for the title track. Guitarist Vivian Campbell (who later joined Whitesnake and Def Leppard) establishes himself as one of the genre's top shredders of the day, while keyboardist Claude Schnell gives the music a gothic feel. The album earned Dio his second gold record (LAST ...
| | Ozzy Osbourne Down To Earth CD (2001)
Under The Blade songs
$7.59 Initial pressings of DOWN TO EARTH will include regular audio tracks as well as multimedia computer files. The Enhanced portion includes live perfomance footage of Ozzy Osbourne performing with Randy Rhodes.
Six years of waiting for a new album had impatient Ozzy fans biting the heads off of live animals, but DOWN TO EARTH finally arrived. Whereas OZZMOSIS may have harkened back to Ozzy's early days of Black Sabbath, EARTH is unmistakably solo Ozzy. First single "Gets Me Through" is a radio-friendly thank you to his fans in which he exclaims "I'm not the anti-Christ or the iron man." The piano intro is reminiscent of "No More Tears." Piano is also featured in "Dreamer" and "Running Out Of Time," two of The Ozzman's most well crafted ballads. Ozzy maturing? Yes, but in a GOOD way.
Things get heavier on "No Easy Way Out," featuring the driven guitar wizardry of longtime collaborator Zakk Wylde. Joe Holmes, Ozzy's road guitarist of ...
| | Ozzy Osbourne Ozzmosis CD (1995) Remastered
Under The Blade album
$7.59 Let us all be thankful that Ozzy's retirement didn't stick. It supposedly lasted for three days, after which he got bored and started working on this project. Heavy, riff-intensive tunes, progressive song structures and a little psychedelia give OZZMOSIS a definite Sabbath flavor. Ozzy must have been in touch with whatever inspired early classics like PARANOID and MASTERS OF REALITY. Witness the extremely chunky "Thunder Underground," which can stand up next to "Sweet Leaf" and "Symptom Of The Universe" as an archetype of hard rock. The trippy guitar in "Ghost Behind My Eyes" and "Denial" are not some young Ozzy-wannabe going for a retro sound--this man was there, "Planet Caravan"ing.
Still, this heavy metal daddy in touch with his roots is also hip to the genre's latest sound. OZZMOSIS has a live, up-front feeling, thanks to producer Michael Beinhorn (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden). Zakk Wylde's huge, raw guitar also plays a major role. He provides scorching solos, ...
