| | Eric Carr Rockology CD Eric Carr Discography of CDs
(3 Customer Reviews)
This posthumous collection of material from former Kiss drummer Eric Carr shows that besides being a premier skinsman he was also a formidable songwriter and vocalist. ROCKOLOGY presents 11 tracks recorded during Carr's Kiss tenure; he sings lead on six of them, while ex-associate and current Union guitarist Bruce Kulick performs guitar duties.
"Eyes Of Love" is a Kiss-like heavy rock tune, while "Somebody's Waiting" reveals a stylized metal voice. "Just Can't Wait" is a pop instrumental highlighted by Carr's Bonham-inspired playing. "Nightmare," a live demo, shows the session work and arrangement behind a killer metal anthem, and "Too Cool For School" blends the Beach Boys and Bon Jovi, while "Tiara" is a beautiful electric piano ballad. "Can You Feel It" and "Nasty Boys," both with straight up pop metal hooks, conclude this long overdue collection. Both hardcore Kiss fans and '80s hair band aficionados will want to pick up ROCKOLOGY. It's great material by an artist whose talents are given a chance to shine.

The Fox Rox Too bad this album is not finished cause it would have been hot stuff. Now it's only in the most dedicated KISS/Eric fan's collection.
I have to say Eric is one of the best musicians I've ever known. He shows off a great songwriting, vocal and musical talent here. He was more than a drummer.

| | Ozzy Osbourne Ozzmosis CD (1995) Remastered
Rockology album
$7.59 Let us all be thankful that Ozzy's retirement didn't stick. It supposedly lasted for three days, after which he got bored and started working on this project. Heavy, riff-intensive tunes, progressive song structures and a little psychedelia give OZZMOSIS a definite Sabbath flavor. Ozzy must have been in touch with whatever inspired early classics like PARANOID and MASTERS OF REALITY. Witness the extremely chunky "Thunder Underground," which can stand up next to "Sweet Leaf" and "Symptom Of The Universe" as an archetype of hard rock. The trippy guitar in "Ghost Behind My Eyes" and "Denial" are not some young Ozzy-wannabe going for ...
| | Ozzy Osbourne The Ozzman Cometh CD (2002)
Rockology CD music
$9.69 THE OZZMAN COMETH is a single CD collection of hits, previously unavailable recordings and one new track. Previously included a limited edition second disc containing 2 of the 4 previously unavailable recordings as well as an interview with Ozzy Osbourne.
As if we needed another reason to believe that Ozzy Osbourne is God, along comes THE OZZMAN COMETH, a double CD retrospective of one of the most enduring and influential figures in heavy metal. Consisting mostly of his post-Black Sabbath solo work as well as a live version of "Paranoid," this collection's biggest asset is the so-called "basement tapes," never-before-heard rehearsal tapes of four ...
| | Cataract With Triumph Comes Loss CD (2004) (Import) Japan
Rockology music CDs
$35.49 Released in 2004, With Triumph Comes Loss was Swiss metalcore outfit Cataract's third album on as many labels (this one arriving on Metal Blade), and, although their songs sometimes lack complete distinction, there's no denying the commanding force with which they are routinely delivered. Vinyl snaps, crackles, and pops precede vicious opener "Killing Tool," which, as one would expect, launches the album off with a frenetic gallop, its double kick-drums and ample harmonies at times bordering on the melodic death metal of In Flames. Slower tracks like "Banished in the Dark" and "Fuel," on the other hand, are built on the sort of monster grooves that Pantera ingrained into almost all heavy metal, post-1992. Slayer is another obvious touchstone throughout (the impressive, slow-marching title track recalls "South of Heaven," and the opening riff to "As We Speak" sounds almost exactly like "Raining Blood," only inside out), but the scarcity of guitar solos serves as a constant reminder of Cataract's ties to the hardcore movement, and, to a smaller degree, the neo-thrash work of, say, the Haunted. The production ...
