Queen songs Product Information
Queen's 1973 debut is definitely their most underrated album of that decade. Although most tracks aren't as well known as the band's later material, QUEEN proves to be an impressively consistent listen from beginning to end. It's extraordinary how many of the group's future musical trademarks were already detectable in their debut--Brian May's orchestrated guitar harmonies, multi-tracked vocal "choirs," imaginative songwriting and dynamics that could switch from head-banging heavy metal to reflective balladry in the blink of an eye. ...See Full Description

I'm old enough to remember when this album first came out, and remember wondering "who the hell is this?!" Freddie Mercury's vocal tour-de-force is worth the price of admission alone. Add in Brian May's layered guitar brilliance and the solid backing of Taylor and Deacon and the result took British rock to a whole other level, not to mention foreshadowing the brilliance of this band to come. Queen is indeed a rock legend, and it's obvious from this first effort that they were already on their way. If you haven't heard it, by all means check it out!

I remember being really impressed when this first came out, and 37 years on, it still sounds great.Despite the limitations of early 70's studio capabilities, the music on here rises above mere technological limitations. A classic debut album, as unique now as it was then, and for me the best Queen album of all.Full of great riffs, melodies and production ideas.
