Stryper: Michael Sweet (vocals, guitar), Oz Fox (guitar, background vocals), Tim Gaines (keyboards, bass, background vocals); Robert Sweet (drums). Personnel: Michael Sweet (vocals, guitar); Oz Fox (guitar, background vocals); Tim Gaines (keyboards, background vocals); Robert Sweet (drums); Christopher Currell (programming). Audio Mixer: Jim (H. M.) Faraci. Recording information: Amigo Studios, Los Angeles, CA; Clover Recording Studios, Hollywood, CA. Illustrator: Tom Utley. When church leaders were accusing heavy metal of encouraging Satanism, Stryper set out to prove that metal and hard rock could be used to promote Christianity. The southern California band was viewed with suspicion by both ministers (who refused to believe that Christianity and metal were compatible) and fellow headbangers -- and yet, Stryper managed to sell millions of albums to both Christian and secular audiences. Stryper's first release, The Yellow and Black Attack!, showed the rockers to be along the lines of Def Leppard and Quiet Riot musically, but not lyrically. On such likable cuts as "You Know What to Do," "Co'Mon Rock," and "Loud 'n' Clear," Stryper managed to promote a religious message without being preachy. While the uptempo songs are decent, the ballads are hard to take. In fact, "You Won't Be Lonely" and "My Love I'll Always Show" are about as unbearably syrupy as it gets. ~ Alex Henderson Yellow And Black Attack Music | List Price | $9.95 (You save $1.46) | | Category | Rock/Pop Albums, Rock CDs, Heavy Metal, Gospel, Religion, Christian, Contemporary Christian Music, Christian Rock, Christian Metal | | Label | Hollywood | | Orig Year | 1984 | | All Time Sales Rank | 3963 | | CD Universe Part number | 1026382 | | Catalog number | 161183 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Jul 16, 1991 | | Studio/Live | Studio | | Mono/Stereo | Stereo | | Producer | Ron Goudie; Stryper | | Personnel | Michael Sweet - vocals, guitar Oz Fox - guitar, background vocals Robert Sweet - drums Tim Gaines - keyboards, bass, background vocals

Stryper Yellow And Black Attack Songs Yellow And Black Attack Music Review Average Rating: (4.7 out of 5 stars) Excellent hard rocking 80's christian music After seening Styper recently I just had to have their first CD. And it was well worth it as they driving hard rock sound of the 80's is "loud and clear" as the title cut suggests. This is a must purchase for everyone who loves the rock sound of the 80's and especially with Christian lyrics. Submitted by paulksimmons (Algonquin, IL) Was This Review Helpful? one of the best metal bands of the 80's Stryper was and is one the greatest metal bands ever.. One of the best live shows ever too. Yellow & Black Attack is great.. but, you have to consider two things. 1. it was 1984, and 2. they were a "Christian" band in 1984. micheal Sweets vocals are amazing on all of his stuff, but, this started it all. the only albums you could find great Metal music in 84 like this one was Ride the Lightning, and the Ol' Fist full of metal. You have to give it up the Stryper. They came and in and Rocked... they still do. If you were or are a Stryper fan of any kind, this is a must have. It started it all, and you have to get it before it's no longer available.. Submitted by a reviewer (Sterling, AK USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$8.49 Personnel: John Van Tongeren, Bill Meyers, Billy Meyers (keyboards); Steve Croes (Synclavier). Unknown Contributor Roles: Tim Gaines; Michael Sweet; Oz Fox; Robert Sweet. Unquestionably Stryper's strongest and most rockin' album, To Hell with the Devil was a tough act to follow. Instead of following it up with something equally intense, the band stressed its pop side on In God We Trust. Though not quite ...

| | Rafael Cameron Cameron's In Love CD (1981)
Yellow And Black Attack
$11.59 Personnel: Rafael Cameron (vocals); Anibal Sierra, Solomon Roberts, Jr. (guitar); Randy Muller (flute, keyboards, percussion); Tommy McConnell (drums). Audio Mixers: John Bradley; Randy Muller. Recording information: Blank Tapes Studios. Photographer: Solomon Roberts, Jr. Arranger: Randy Muller. With singles from his 1980 self-titled debut barely out of the charts, Rafael Cameron slammed another batch in when he released Cameron's in Love just a year later. Working again with Brass Construction's Randy Muller, who wrote all but one song on the LP, and still with the now-credited Skyy's instrumental alter ego, Funk Deluxe, Cameron reached even higher than before, delivering another snappy set. Divided into up-tempo dance grooves and tender ballads, Cameron's in Love spun two catchy songs into the charts. "Funtown U.S.A.," an incredibly funky slab that drew from influences including Chic and Sly Stone, wrapped shouts and call-outs around a rolling bass juiced up with freshly synthesized bells and whistles. "Boogies Gonna Get Ya'" repeated the process with a more restrained ...

Chumbawamba: Danbert Nobacon (vocals, ukelele); Lou Watts (vocals, keyboards); Dunstan Bruce, Alice Nutter (vocals); Boff (guitar); Jude Abbott (trumpet, background vocals); Neil Ferguson (bass); Harry Hamer (drums, programming). Recorded between 2001 & 2002. Chumbawamba's dalliance with the big time and novelty hit-single stardom came to an abrupt and fitting end with 2000s What You See Is What You Get. Rather than write a sequel to "Tubthumping," the famously anarchic group emptied the sack of barbs, slivers, and torn receipts acquired during their curious arc of international fame and glued them into a sticky, hooky, and cynical pop-culture mess. The record was standard operating procedure for Chumbawamba, but it spelled disaster for their deal with EMI, who had likely been hoping for "Son of Tubthumping: I Get Up Again, Again!" ...
