Not a posthumous collection of odds and ends but an album actually recorded in the final months of Freddie Mercury's struggle with AIDS, MADE IN HEAVEN is full-force Queen. Their dynamic theatrics charge the album, as Mercury's unrivaled voice and the band's grand production aesthetic resound clearer than ever before.
MADE IN HEAVEN captures all the explosiveness that made Queen one of the most magical big-rock bands of the '70s and '80s. Mercury's powerful voice soars to heights that mere pop singers simply aren't able to grasp. On "It's A Beautiful Day," and particularly on the song's refrain, his regal vocal prowess reminds the listener that this is a man who could sing opera but still rock harder than most heavy metal screamers. The rest of the band is equally brutal in its precision: Brian May's sophisticated guitar work, and the eloquent, sympathetic rhythm section of bassist John Deacon and drummer Roger Taylor make this collection of rock music a moving affair.
Throughout their career, Queen beckoned the acceptance of a broader range of pop-rock. Mercury's vocals soared beyond the rock idiom, and May's dignified guitar arrangements may never be equaled. Freddie Mercury will be forever missed, but the unrestrained beauty of MADE IN HEAVEN captures him in a loving portrait.

Entertainment Weekly (11/10/95, pp.62-64) - "...Given its halting construction, it...makes for a surprisingly organic work with no shortage of highlights....the perfect theatrical epitaph for a life dedicated to gorgeous artifice." - Rating: B+ Q (12/95, p.144) - 3 Stars - Good - "...MADE IN HEAVEN is not some retrospective rehash of surplus, rejected or 'lost' vocal performances...but an album of entirely original material recorded, for the most part, with as much care and attention to detail as any of Queen's previous releases..." Queen Made In Heaven Songs Made In Heaven Music Review Average Rating: (4.9 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Queen's final album with Freddie & John. This album is truly made in Heaven. It is probably Queen's most amazing and inspiring album. I think that the most amazing thing about this album is that when this was recorded during Freddie's last few months of his life, he sounded exactly like he did all the way back to Queen's 1973 debut. The last two hidden tracks on the album make me imagine that it is Freddie making his way into Heaven and when he finally reaches Heaven, he says... "FAB!" This is also the last album with one of my favorite bass players John Deacon. Queen is not really Queen without Freddie & John. In my opinion, this is a beautiful final hurrah for the original Queen. Heavenly Really I don't have a favorite Queen or Freddie song because I can not choose. There are times where I crave one song over the other.
Made in Heaven track 12 & 13 is a painstaking effort undertaken for the man they loves so much. The track symbolizes Freddie Mercury's ascension to heaven and definetely a Masterpiece

I too passed Queen on to my 2 children and hope that when I leave this world, my children will think as Dezi did. thanks Dezi.
PS. Great Album. Though I enjoy many of the remakes, I like the originals from Freddies Solo effort, "Mr. Bad Guy". Now THAT'S HIS masterpiece. Submitted by txorzel (Andy Griffith, Andiana USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Made In Heaven, indeed... I have given this album four stars in relation to the rest of the Queen back catalogue. Put it up against any other band and it would get five.
A reviewer at the time of the albums release commented about the albums reflective and uplifting nature, "imagine what kind of album Eddie Vedder or Billy Corgan would make", if faced with what Freddie faced. Full marks for the re-invention of Freddies solo tracks "Made in heaven" and "I was born to love you", turned into Queen classics. The jewel in the crown however is the final track recorded "Mother Love". How a man not far from death could sing like Freddie does in the bridge of this song is beyond belief. All power and heart, with shivers up the spine. A wonderful album to honour the greatest vocalist ever. Submitted by Justin (NSW, Australia) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
LOVE This album reminds me of my dad. I remember when I was little, my mum and my dad just would play it all the time, no matter what we were doing. I remember listening to it whilst my and my brother were having our baths and tea, ready for school the next day.I loved all of them but my faves were Winter's Tale and Too Much Love Will Kill You. My dad is now dead and I am a teenager. People at schoo, taunt me for listening to stuff like this instead of now stuff, but I dont care. Queen Made in Heaven spells "My Dad." $11.99 Some songs on this album appear in different form in the film HIGHLANDER.
A KIND OF MAGIC primarily functioned as a musical backdrop for the movie HIGHLANDER, but unlike Queen's other motion picture soundtrack (1980's FLASH GORDON), the album doesn't contain a single instrumental--they're all fully realized songs. Although it's not quite on par with their time-honored offerings from the '70s and didn't chart well in the States, A KIND OF MAGIC still contains more than a few classic Queen tracks.
For those who doubted Queen could still compose rip-roaring heavy metal, the lead-off track, ...

Made In Heaven songs
$11.89 With their previous album (HOT SPACE) confusing many of their fans, Queen had something to prove on THE WORKS. The band definitely succeeded at getting back on track--THE WORKS was one of the best rock releases of 1984, featuring the worldwide smash "Radio GaGa" and reintroducing their fans to Queen's classic sound. THE WORKS spawned a total of four U.K. top ten singles, confirming that Queen had returned from their short hiatus in fine form.
Almost all of the elements you've come to expect from a classic Queen release are present on here. "I Want To Break Free" and "It's A Hard Life" are instantly addictive pop-rock. "Tear It Up" is ...

| | Vandals Hollywood Potato Chip CD (2004)
Made In Heaven CD music
$11.49 In the midst of all their other contributions to society (like running a successful independent record label, writing hit songs for a hit movie, performing with other BIGGER bands and musicians, and selling booze to the demanding public), four So-Cal guys decided it was time to release another album. Thankfully, those four guys happen to be established punk legends. Ladies and gentlemen, Kung Fu Records is proud to present Hollywood Potato Chip, the latest album from The Vandals. By bringing in a few heavy-hitters to the cause, namely Jerry Finn (AFI, Blink-182, Alkaline Trio and 100 others) who mixed the album, makes Hollywood Potato Chip an exceptional album among a history of exceptional albums. Keeping in the tradition of fast-tempo melodies and numerous inside jokes, The Vandals remain one of the last bastions of punk rock that can be fun without compromising musicality and performance ability. As an ode to the shady industry in which many people strive to be a part of, The Vandals have created an album that pays tribute to the darker side of Hollywood, where naïve and starry-eyed transplants are put through the twisted ringer of head shots and casting calls, and once the energetic drive is over, all that is left ...

| | Jason Liebman Escape From The Heart Of Darkness CD (2004)
Made In Heaven album
$9.35 In today's brand before band, corporate-driven music landscape, it's too easily forgotten that not so long ago, the top groups made their mark on the road first, earning fans with substance over stylization. Brazenly defying the current crowd of canned poprockers and creating impassioned, pertinent music on their own terms, New York City's Jason Liebman & The Uprising are making their mark the old fashioned way, bringing enough musical muscle, onstage swagger and beholden-to-no-one rebel spirit to chase down the ghosts of heroes past. Only three years ago, Jason Liebman, guitarist, singer/songwriter and a mainstay on the legendary New York City rock club scene since the age of seventeen, began branching out from the shadows of bands past to make a name for himself as a solo performer. Through audience word-of-mouth and some early rough demos, these shows quickly grew to a happening.By the end of that first year, Liebman began performing with a trio that included multifaceted bassplayer / vocalist Aaron Wolfe; Wolfe would eventually become Jason's longest-running musicalcollaborator to date and a founding member of The Uprising. Appearing under Jason's name, the trio expanded their NYC base to packed houses at well-known downtown rooms such as Mercury Lounge, Arlene Grocery and The Continental. In June of '02, Liebman released his debut LP, The Driest Of All Seasons, on his own independent label, For The Artist Records. An auspicious introduction, the album received rave reviews from music industry mainstays, alternative 'zines, national, regional and local press alike. The Driest Of All Seasons also became a radio success without the benefit of national ...
