Product Description
Prog-rock fans everywhere got very excited when they found out that ex-members of such bands as Yes (guitarist Steve Howe and keyboardist Geoff Downes), King Crimson (bassist/vocalist John Wetton), and ELP (drummer Carl Palmer) were forming a supergroup, Asia. With its 1982 self-titled debut, the quartet surprisingly crossed over to the more mainstream pop audience with no problem, hitting the top spot on the album charts. ...See Full Description

You can smell it a mile away! Putrid. Absolutely foul. Not because the musicians aren't brilliant - they are. It's just so sad to hear these guys dumb it down ("Downes") to such a profoundly idiotic level. By Victor Knopf (Brooklyn, NY, USA)
Bring your headphones AND your noseplugs! A while ago I purchased the newest re-release of this 1982 album. As a longtime fan of some of the musicians involved in this project (Howe, Wetton, Palmer), I thought I would take all of the the gushing endorsements here, and the overwhelmingly negative comments here and elsewhere, and then re-visit the music and evaluate it for myself. By David Richardson (Massey Hall, first row of the balcony)
Songs From The Focus Group! How many ways can you say "awful"? Considering the pedigrees of most of the musicians involved in this laughable exercise, the results (musically speaking) couldn't have been worse. By Octavio del Pulpo (Playa del Carmen, Mexico)
Just. Plain. Bad. Truly awful dreck from talented players who obviously knew better but went for the big sales cash-o-la. It's even worse in hindsight, bacause it could have (& should have) been another complex, innovative album classic. By YesFan (New York, NY, USA)
Padded/Puffy/Putrid/Pompous/Poopþ This is Music for Money - nothing more, nothing less. A major commercial success and a major artistic failure, all in the same glossy package. By Greg Walters (Tonawanda, NY, USA)
