Tinderbox album for sale Product Description
Tinderbox album for sale by Siouxsie & The Banshees was released Apr 18, 1989 on the Geffen label. With their 1984 release, HYAENA, Siouxse & the Banshees dropped more than just a few hints that they were entering very melodic territory (their cover of the Beatles' "Dear Prudence," etc.). And they delivered on their promise with their follow up two years later, 1986's TINDERBOX. The Banshees also took a detour from the challenging and unpredictable arrangements that they had been indulging in on their past few releases to a more back to basics approach, where the song structures were more straightforward. Tinderbox CD music contains a single disc with 13 songs. ...See Full Description

give it me Cannons and Party's Fall sum up the intrinsically seering and overwhelming juxtaposition of light and dark. What a voice, What a vision. By wowed (Encino, CA, usa)
Best of the 80s Remember the late 80s when punk was dying and there was nothing to listen to? This was my walkman drug and is a great listen almost 20 years later. By Bette (Chicago)
Wonderful and Frustrating Throughout their career SATB have chartered through some of the most interesting waters in modern rock. At its best Tinderbox offers some sublime moments (Sweetest Chill, Party's Fall) that rate among the band's finest work. However like much of their post Juju work the record is inconsistent, with some overindulgent drudgery offered among the treasures (Umbrella, Execution)suggesting the band's 'Goth' label is turning to pastiche. But true to form, when at their peak SATB make the competition redundant, and I love 'em. To bits. By t_imcdonald (ACT Australia)
WOW ! Just one word will explian this cd....PARAMOUNT By a reviewer (fort worth,TX)
Another brilliant SATB album Siouxsie and the Banshees is one of the most innovative bands ever, and they are definitely not appreciated enough. Tinderbox is not their best work, but it's much much much much much better than almost everything else that is out there in "popular" music. It's sad that mediocre fluff dominates our culture, while music with true intelligence is submerged. SATB is a band to discover. The Sweetest Chill is the best track, and one of their finest. This Unrest and Land's End are the other top tracks. The only poor-quality track is the "bonus" remix of Cities in Dust. It should have been left off. The mediocre B-side "An execution" doesn't fit well, either. SATB made a few unfortunate production mistakes with Tinderbox. The children's voices in Candyman are awful. The dubbed in man's voice at the beginning of 92 degrees is awful, although the song itself is musically very impressive despite having a rather weak premise. Her vocals are a bit off-key in Party's Fall, and somewhat grating in Cities in Dust. Aside from the minor flaws, this album is definitely a must-buy. By a reviewer (Oxford, OH)
