When Whitesnake hit it big in the late '80s with its power-pop/metal one-two punch, many new fans were unaware that earlier in the band's career, David Coverdale and co. were straight ahead, bluesy hard rockers, especially on their 1982 release, SAINTS & SINNERS.
The album is best known amongst longtime Whitesnake fans as the one that features two songs that would be re-recorded and molded into melodic rockers for the band's 1987 U.S. commercial breakthrough, WHITESNAKE--"Crying in the Rain" and "Here I Go Again." Also included were such lesser-known highlights as "Young Blood," "Bloody Luxury," and "Rough An' Ready," making SAINTS & SINNERS one of the fiercest, most rocking albums of Whitesnake's career.

This cd kick's all the way thru! Jon Lord on keybords and the late great Cozy Powell on drums in the same band with one of rock's greatest singer's,make this a great hard rock album.If you have only heard the Whitesnake of the late 80's and 90's,give this release a try,it will not disapoint!!

For me this is the best whitesnake album. From the opening "Young Blood" you immediately get the feel this is heavier and yet still retains its bluesy feel. "Rough and Ready" is a great stomper leading into the Single "Bloody Luxury". After "Victim of Love" you come to the big one!! "Cryin in the Rain" forget about all the new versions from Whitesnake this is it, ther version whereby Moody/ Marsden and Galley deliver the best feel to a guitar solo you will hear. It howls from your speakers and this version is even better than the live version that DC delivers. Then comes "Here I go again" this again is the best version and the 1987 versions of both songs are not bettered. Saints and Sinners is great, all the band deliver a true classic, get it, it is the best.

This was the best album of the Coverdale's band,along side "Ready and Willing" and "Love Hunter",maked in the glorius heavy-blues tradition.
"Saints & Sinners"is more heavier than others,with the band in his best form,play'n'rocks all.
Absolutely,David Coverdale(of course),Bernie Marsden,Micky Moody,Jon Lord and Ian Paice was the very best formation of Whitesnake.
And the best of all,in his style,in the world.
And all they are in this fabulous,eternal rock'n'roll's milestone.Pure fire,fierece,and real power,so distant to comercial sound what come later.
The TRUE SPIRIT from gems like "Here I go Again" and "Crying in the Rain" lives here,don´t be fooled mates...
