Recorded live at the Wilshire Theatre in Beverly Hills, California between February 10 through 12, 1995, Over the Rainbow collects the highlights of the Eleventh Annual Southland Theatre Artists Goodwill Event's (S.T.A.G.E.) theatrical benefit for the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. Thirty-six stars of the stage perform some of Arlen's best-known songs, written in conjunction with lyricists like Ira Gershwin, E.Y. Harburg, Dorothy Fields, Johnny Mercer and Ted Koehler. ~ Jason Ankeny

$6.69 Born on the anniversary of the victory day in the Battle of New Orleans, eccentrically funny Hip Hop artist Impulss was clobbered by a vast array of influences. New Orleans East in the 80's was a hodgepodge of everything from Vietnamese noodles (which kids ate dry) to teens getting shot in the rump at church fairs. From the Pointer Sisters to Twisted Sister, Run-DMC to Weird Al Yankovic, Impulss absorbed the whole world at the same time until that day he came across the tune, "Funky Beat," by Whodini. From that moment on Hip Hop would be the leading lady in the life of one crazy bastard named Daniel Perez. He soaked in as much as he could like a romantic in a new love affair, absorbing the styles of Slick Rick, Black Sheep, Big Daddy Kane, Tim Smooth, The Fat Boys and Just-Ice among many others over the years that followed. Decadent, yet lightly refreshing, Impulss refined his high-pitched rhyme spitting capabilities on the streets of New Orleans and became an early 90's Canal St. legend. No Earth day passed where he was not becoming more popular, whether the location was in front of the Krauss on Canal and Basin or at a St. Leo's Catholic fair. Eventually that popularity led to throwing Hip Hop parties along with others to maintain the dwindling community base in NOLA once Bounce music blanketed the city and overtook the minds and booties of the generation.
