Roulette Rock & Roll, Vol. 3: Now Dig This Soundtrack CD

This third entry in Sequel's exhaustive series of Roulette rock & roll and rockabilly features a collection of artists who -- with the exception of one or two names -- skirt the realms of total obscurity. There are four tracks aboard from Italian rock & roller Charlie Gracie ("I Looked for You," "The Race," "Sorry for You," and "Scenery") and a pair from female rocker Jo Ann Campbell ("You're Driving Me Mad" and "Wassa Matter with You Baby"). But the rest of this 24-track collection brings together truly rocking tracks from such names from obscurity as Bob Ackoff (the tuneless "Come Dance with Me"), Larry Trider ("Ha Ha Song" and "Don't Stop"), Don "Red" Roberts ("Don't Say Maybe"), Johnny Elgin ("Sittin' at Home with the Blues"), Lee Curtin ("Hot Dog"), Buddy Knox's guitarist Don Lanier ("Sweetness" and "Need Your Love"), Pat Kelly ("Hey Doll Baby," "Cloud 13," and "Patsy"), the Moonlighters ("Glow of Love" and "Broken Heart"), the Shades ("School Bus," "Guitar Hop," "Baby Baby," and "Jeri Lee") and the semi-legendary Mack Vickery, whose "High School Blues" on Princeton -- and featuring the strong work of Wild Bill Emerson on lead guitar -- was acquired by Roulette in 1960.
