| | 2 Live Crew Greatest Hits Vol. 2 CD 2 Live Crew Discography of CDs
(1 Customer Review)
While 2 Live Crew are certainly associated with a moment in time, Luke and company's body of work is surprisingly deep. More a re-examination of their entire career than a bookend to its first part, GREATEST HITS VOL. 2 contains both the Miami bass troupe's top 40 hits, signature track "Me So Horny," and the biography of its aftermath "Banned in the U.S.A." This collection digs further into the 2 Live Crew catalogue, which includes minor hits such as the Manfred Mann sampling "Do Wah Diddy" and the Clinton Scandal reworking of the act's biggest hit, "Bill So Horny," a true timepiece. [Also included is a random bonus disc from the warehouse of Lil Joe Records.] ~ Sean Westergaard

Greatest Hits Vol. 2
$13.49 GREATEST HITS includes three newly recorded tracks: "Boyz With Da Bass," "The Splak Shop" and "We Like To Chill." 2 Live Crew: Luther "Luke" Campbell, David "Mr. Mixx" Hobbs, Mark "Brother Marquis" Ross, Chris "Mr. Ice" Won. Producers: Luther "Luke" Campbell, David "Mr. Mixx" Hobbs, Mark "Brother Marquis" Ross, Chris "Mr. Ice" Won, Lazaro Mendez, Felix Sama, Eddie Miller. For a short time around 1989, it seemed the whole world revolved around the crazy saga of bawdy Miami Bass group 2 Live Crew. As record stores defied bans and obscenity charges were pursued, Luke's merry band of booty-lovers scored a bevy of hits, including an unlikely U.S. top 40 hit with the FULL METAL JACKET-referencing "Me So Horny." The 1992 GREATEST HITS release contains that hit, another minor hit, "Pop That Coochie," and three originals including a mega-mix mashing together all their classics. Uncle Luke ...
| | Enya Day Without Rain CD (2000)
Greatest Hits Vol. 2
$10.65 Solo performer: Enya (vocals, various instruments). A DAY WITHOUT RAIN won the 2002 Grammy Award for Best New Age Album. Enya's first full-length album of new material in five years (and her fourth in 12 years) will have a familiar sound to the millions who have followed her career so far. As usual, the slow songs sound like "Silent Night" being performed in a cathedral, and the less slow songs are paced by rhythm patterns that would be called pizzicato passages if they were being played on real strings instead of string-like synthesizers. Over the music, Enya sings in her multi-tracked, ethereal voice, making Roma Ryan's lyrics, which are full of pastoral imagery and abstract romantic sentiments, seem even more insubstantial than they already are. In the press materials accompanying the release, Enya explains why it took her five years to come up with less than 34 and a half minutes of music that sounds like most of her earlier ...

| | Radiators Trouble Pilgrim CD (2007)
Greatest Hits Vol. 2
$15.35 Only 27 years after Ghostown, the Radiators from Space have finally gotten around to making their third studio album (they were sidetracked by little things, such as breaking up in 1981 and Philip Chevron spending most of the '80s and '90s in the Pogues), and it's good to report that some things haven't changed much over the years. 2006's Trouble Pilgrim inhabits a stylistic middle ground between the group's scrappy debut, TV Tube Heart, and the significantly more ambitious Ghostown. The tunes are smart and Chevron and his bandmates clearly aren't afraid of a good rant, but this is less scrappy old-school punk than tough but tuneful pop/rock with a straightforward guitar attack and a lack of needless frills. For this reunion, Chevron is joined by two of the group's original members, Pete Holidai and Steve Rapid, and a new rhythm section, bassist Jessie Booth and drummer Johnny Bonnie, and the songs on Trouble Pilgrim are equally informed by ...
