Rossini: La Donna Del Lago CD

 Good recording of Rossini´s opera of 1819 in Naples.
This live performance was on May, 19 of 1970 in the studio of the Orchestra and Chorus of RAI in Turin, Italy. The structure and orchestration of this opera surpass many of Rossini´s stage works in sophistication and consistent impact, this work continues to win new fans every time it is performed. The cast in this recording is outstanding with the soprano Montserrat Caballe as Ellen, the tenor Franco Bonisolli as James V (Hubert), the mezzo Julia Hamari as Malcolm under the direction of Piero Bellugi. The length of the recording is 138 minutes and the quality of the sound is very good.
