Like every other ska-punk band, Five Iron Frenzy doesn't have much subtlety, whether it's in their music or their humor. Our Newest Album Ever!, the group's second album, is awash with predictable, heavy-handed skanking riffs and silly, frat-boy jokes. In short, it's a lot like any other ska-punk album that was released since 1994. For a group of bands that pride themselves on thier individuality, it's a little weird that almost every ska-punk group sounds exactly alike. There is no difference between Five Iron Frenzy, Buck-O-Nine or Reel Big Fish, whose breakthrough hit "Sell Out" Five Iron Frenzy inexplicably and eerily echo with this album's first single, "Handbook for the Sellout." If you like anything that sounds like this -- be it the Less Than Jake, Goldfinger or Save Ferris -- you'll undoubtedly like this, since it's essentially the same record. i feel like saying this is the greatest album of all time - not becauase of its impact on the nation (or lack thereof:O!!) but beacause of the quality of the music, song after song. seriously, think about: compared to sgt pepper's, which is widely known as the greatest album of all time, this beats that, in my opinion. yea...

These guys are great the lyrics are realy catch. Best of all their music has a good message while still having fun songs. My favorite part of this CD is that it has a song about me, "Where is Micah?"

What's to say? This album is wonderful-the songs never get tired, every song is great, and they are the best ska band on the market. Definately pick this one up, you won't be dissapointed.

Born in Denver, Colorado from the ashes of an industrial-thrash outfit, Five Iron Frenzy blends punk, ska, and metal, while maintaining a strong sense of melody and a great use of vocal harmonies. On the surface, that might seem common enough, except that FIF is a Christian band. By not taking an excessively preachy road, FIF is crafty and subtle in the way it delivers its message. Walking more in the tradition of bands like They Might Be Giants, the members of FIF are serious about music without taking themselves too seriously.
PROOF THAT THE YOUTH ARE REVOLTING is testament to the fun-loving chaos of the live shows of FIF. The disc opens with a jab at fellow Christian rockers Stryper that segues into a stab at '80s-metal refugees Europe. The group's infectious sense of humor is a large part of its appeal.
