Digitally remastered by Evren Goknar (2000, Capitol Studios).
While popular music trends cycle endlessly, Queensryche has remained a vital force in progressive hard rock music. The band's 20-year musical legacy is explored on GREATEST HITS.
There were numerous comparisons to Iron Maiden when Queensryche released its debut EP, and "Queen of the Reich" is evidence that these weren't entirely baseless. "The Lady Wore Black" hints at what was to become the band's trademark sound--describing it as powerfully emotional is an understatement--while the guitar and vocal harmony-driven "Walk in the Shadows" showcases the impressive multi-octave vocal range of frontman Geoff Tate. Unquestionably the defining moment of the band's career, the concept album OPERATION: MINDCRIME featured landmark songwriting, including "I Don't Believe in Love" and "Eyes of a Stranger." Queensryche reached an even wider audience with "Jet City Woman" and "Empire," and got to Number 9 on Billboard with the orchestral, Pink Floyd-influenced "Silent Lucidity." Included from the HEAR IN THE NOW FRONTIER sessions is the mid-tempo "Chasing Blue Skies," while a majestic, full band version of "Someone Else?" rounds out this essential collection.

Queensryche Greatest Hits Songs Greatest Hits Music Review Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) A sample of the best This CD gives a good example noting back to the beginings of QR. It demonstrates their progression and change to almost the present. For it to truely be a best of CD it would have to have at least 35 more songs on it, but hey, it's a sample of the best. BEST COLLECTION AVAILABLE The Greatest Hits liner notes feature an essay by Paul Sutter who wrote an early Queensryche demo review for Kerrang! All 16 songs are 24-bit digitally remastered. This is the must-have album for a Queensryche newbie. The album shows the progression and evolution of Queensryche. From their first album, with Queen of the Reich and The Lady Wore Black, to their Operation: Mincrime's Eyes of a Stranger, to their recent Chasing Blue Sky, this album covers all of their greatest hits. GEOFF TATE is a musical mastermind. He brings such great lyrics to the band, and the music shows it. My favorite songs from this album: The Lady Wore Black, Eyes Of A Stranger, Walk In The Shadows, Jet City Woman, Chasing Blue Sky, I Don't Believe In Love, I Dream In Infrared, Silent Lucidity. It is a lot, but, hey, the album is pure .

Greatest Hits album
$9.99 With the breakthrough success and worldwide respect that Queensryche gained from their conceptual masterpiece OPERATION: MINDCRIME, how could the band possibly outdo or at the least match themselves? Just two years after the release of MINDCRIME Queensryche reinvented themselves (though certainly not for the last time). While many fans were clamoring for a conceptual sequel, the band returned to a song-oriented approach that was more art rock and less metal-edged.
Now quite far removed from the fantasy and techno-paranoia lyrical ...

$9.89 We Gather Together - Hymns and Spirituals for Solo Jazz Piano by Bradley SowashFrom the Liner Notes:The songs in this collection represent some of the best-loved hymns and spirituals in America. Their durability is intriguing. Generations of handing down new renditions have reduced them to their essential qualities. This 'essence' offers a composer and musician plenty of room for interpretation and improvisation. Having sought to make them my own, I now invite you to do the same.Listener Comments:"I had to pull over the first time I listened to "Amazing Grace" in the car." - Michael in Los Angeles "Who says ...
