Brad Johnson is originally from The Geto Boys, the rap trio who put Houston on the map. In this dark and brooding collection, written as a very personal diary, over the course of 15 tracks Johnson sets the record straight.
The title track takes us from the rapper's conception to his emergence from the womb, relating how he's the last of his truly tormented kind, while in "Look Into My Eyes" he admits the horrible truths of his past and laments that people can't look past that and move on. "Down With Us" lets his influence in the music industry be known, while "O.G. 2 Me" runs down the real meaning of Original Gangster. "Conspiracy Theory" tells of a Mafia set up gone wrong, the informer caught and brought to justice, Houston style. In "My Time" Johnson knows he's running out of time and considers a born again lifestyle--whether he achieves redemption or not, with LAST OF A DYING BREED he's made a compelling album.

One of top ten rap albums ever Face has done it again. Last of a Dying Breed combines lyricism and production to equal musical genious. The beauty of the album is the deep lyrics that face spits on several tracks. The first track is a story of his birth that immediately catches your attention. Look me in my eyes is a tale of paranoia, deception, and pure insanity all combined in well thought out lyrics. The highlight of the album is track six Sorry For What. This track is quite possibly the best performance ever by Face. It is a deep heart felt track about the inner feelings of an obviously distressed rapper. The lyrics and the beat compliment the mood of the track perfectly. Conspiracy Theory is track aimed directly at the Feds who have been investigasting Face and J Prince. It is some real hard core gangsta music. The album ends with the track In My Time. This track is the latest evidence of Face's quarrel and obsession with death. It goes deep to the soul with deep qoutes "most niggas want to be like Mike/ but I would rather be like Christ/ so in the end I can see bright lights.
Overall the album is a classic. Submitted by C bro (Ohio) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

One of my fav albums ever This album is so good, and I can't believe it when I read that Scarface actually produced most songs himself (sometimes getting help sure, but hardly no more help than Dr.Dre so)
fav songs:
"And Yo" is an instant fav. which features Redman, but not only him also making a guest-appearence is YOUNG NOBLE from Tupac's rap-group Outlawz but they forgot to credit him on the cd but he is there spittin' fire like never before...
"Look Me In My Eyes" is some lovely ghetto-horror
"O.G. To Me", and "Get Out" are also great as hell...
There is only one bad song actually and that is "In & Out" - (featuring Devin The Dude/Too Short) which is a boring track with Too Short being as bad as only he can be
BUY THE ALBUM, fool!

Last Of A Dying Breed album
$15.95 R. was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best R&B Album. "I'm Your Angel" was nominated for the 1999 Grammy Award for Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals. "When A Woman's Fed Up" was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance.
R. Kelly proves that he's as prolific as he is talented on the two-disc set R., which not only culls together his most noteworthy and successful work, but is bursting with new tracks as well. Filled from start to finish with Kelly's unique blend of smooth vocal stylings and no-nonsense lyrical stance, this album also features the work of a few of his prominent friends--the opener, "Home Alone" sports a guest rap courtesy of Keith Murray, while "Money Makes The World Go Round" is graced by Nas.
A more mainstream pairing is witnessed in the dramatic show stopper "I'm your Angel," which finds Kelly alongside superstar Celine Dion, but the collaboration which really makes its mark is "We Ride," which features Cam'Ron, Noreaga, Jay-Z and Vegas Cats in a veritable who's who of Hip Hop's brightest stars. As if all this weren't enough, the mega-hit "I Believe I Can Fly" is included ...
| | Scarface World Is Yours CD (1993)
Last Of A Dying Breed CD music
$11.69 Scarface once again quickly follows a Geto Boys album, Till Death Do Us Part, with a solo release, The World Is Yours, just as he'd done two years earlier with his brilliant solo debut, Mr. Scarface Is Back. The circumstances are otherwise quite different, though. Scarface had been on a roll in 1991: fresh off the breakthrough success of "Mind Playing Tricks on Me" and its similarly well-received Geto Boys album, We Can't Be Stopped, he unveiled a cinematic, somewhat conceptual solo debut that made him a bona fide national superstar. Furthermore, much changed within the rap world between 1991-1993, specifically the end of free-for-all sampling and the widespread proliferation of gangsta rap. Scarface thus delivers a follow-up that's a huge leap forward from his debut, both in terms of production and rhetoric. He works here mostly with producer N.O. Joe, who crafts a G-funk style ...

$14.35 Despite the popularity they've achieved, the Geto Boys don't have pop crossover on their minds. They're a fiercely politicized lot, and their main focus on DA GOOD DA BAD DA UGLY, as on their earlier works, is ghetto life and the plight of their fellow African-Americans. ...
