This Fantasy release doesn't compare to their Volt or ABC releases, but it has some enjoyable moments. Original lead William "Wee Gee" Howard ("In the Rain") reunites with Ron Banks, Lenny Mayes, Willie Ford, and L.J. Reynolds for a new twist: every member gets to lead at least part of a song. "Somewhere In Time" contains a medley of the group's biggest hits, but like onstage medleys, it's disappointing. Still, it was an interesting idea. Lenny, Ron, and L.J. swap leads beautifully on "When Love Is Over," and Ron and Wee Gee shine on "One Love Ago." ~ Andrew Hamilton

Somewhere In Time (A Dramatic Reunion) songs
$6.69 "Friend Of A Friend is by far the most alternative band in the region. I mean this in the most original sense of the word before alternative became an "in-thing" to call any music! This is a band to follow, watch and keep your eye on!" -Dave Buco, The Midwest Beat, Aug 2001.Formerly known as Libbets and then Projekt Mayhem, Friend of a Friend (F of a F) is a four piece pop/alternative/emo-rock band with James Laczkowski on guitar and vocals, Dan Frailich on guitar, Josh Childs on bass, and Nate Bohanan on drums. F of a F draws its creative drive from James's views on love and life, as well as the other member's life experiences. Seeking to venture out further with a sound that versatile and creative, F of a F also branched out into doing instrumentals that are ambient yet energetic. F of a F likes to experiment, with songs that are as simple as one acoustic guitar and mic, to upwards of 40 tracks of keyboards, distorted drums, effects, and other miscellaneous concoctions. F of a F began with just one guy and his guitar, but a mutual love of music has brought together this new live line- up to many Chicago land venues including the Muse Cafe in Lansing as well as the Unicorn Cafe in Evanston. Avid spectators, fans, and passers-by have compared them to the sounds of a Bends-era Radiohead as well as the recent breakthrough power punk stylings of Jimmy Eats World. Most recently, they played a truly amazing show at Tower Records that was a near life-altering experience for the band. Although F of a F may have deeply introspective and serious lyrics at times, ...

Somewhere In Time (A Dramatic Reunion) CD music
$7.01 Donnie Barren played lead guitar for the Los Angeles rock band "City Lights" in the late 1970's and early 1980's, writing songs for the group's single ("Action/Back Off Babe") and EP ("Blackout"), and performing alongside groups like Dokken, Ratt, Oingo Boingo, X and Quiet Riot. Donnie ventured out on his own in 1982, releasing the single "I Love My Cat's Meow/Falling In Love" in March 1983 (acting as musician, songwriter, producer and promo-man). The tune was well received, being played on over 15 Southern California radio stations during its 1st month and garnering college radio coverage across the USA and in Germany. "Cat's Meow" hit # 1 on LA's KXLU & KRCL, and then entered KROQ's "Rodney on the Roq's" Top 10 in April (at # 7), and moved to # 1 for the next nine weeks. At the time, KROQ (FM 106.7 in Pasadena, CA) was the # 1 Album Oriented Rock (AOR) station in LA and was regarded as the ...
