Digitally remastered by Phil De Lancie (1992, Fantasy Studios, Berkeley, California).
This recording was the third and final matchup between guitarists Herb Ellis and Joe Pass and, unlike the first two (which were both made for Concord), this is a duo date rather than a quartet session. Pass was just beginning to gain recognition for his remarkable unaccompanied solos, but Ellis had not recorded in such a sparse setting before. They complement each other quite well on such tunes as "Love for Sale," "Seven Come Eleven," "Oh, Lady Be Good," "I've Found a New Baby," and two versions of "Cherokee." Highly recommended. ~ Scott Yanow
Recorded on January 30 and February 13 & 20, 1974. Includes liner notes by Herb Ellis.
Personnel: Joe Pass, Herb Ellis (guitar).

| | Allman Brothers Band Dreams CDs (1989) Box Set
Two For The Road
$38.09 DREAMS is a 4-CD box set compiling in chronological order tracks by the Allman Brothers Band, as well as tracks by bands featuring one or more member of the Allman Brothers Band and solo performances by Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts.
Recorded between 1966 & 1988. Includes a 32-page illustrated booklet and liner notes by John Swenson.
Like nearly all box sets, DREAMS has plenty to recommend it-and a few nagging drawbacks. The set's chief shortcoming is its two conflicting goals: providing an overview of the Allmans' history, thus attracting ...

Two For The Road
$9.19 FIRST INSTRUMENT is Rachelle Ferrell's first album. It was released in Japan in 1990, but not made available in the U.S. until 1995.
Only once every generation or two does a talent like Rachelle Ferrell's emerge, and after a listen or two to FIRST INSTRUMENT, you'll find it hard to believe that these tapes have been bouncing around since 1990. One can only wonder why, because Ferrell's instrument ...

| | Aep First Acoustic Free Rock Relationship CD (2007)
Two For The Road
$6.69 AEP: Comments On My First Solo Album Free rock is the term I like to use to describe the music genre of my very first solo album. After ten years and two cd:s in Humboogie, I decided to release an album for which I did all the compositions, recording, playing, mixdown and cover design. Free rock mostly takes its influence on the area of rock that I have found most fruitful: the years 1968-1975. Of course, a musically experienced listener will find hints of, for example, the early 1980’s here and there, not to mention some guitar styles of classical music arranged for acoustic guitar (I have played classical guitar for over 20 years, too). To record with acoustic guitar and vocal solely was an obvious approach, since most of the material, if not all, was composed that way. Later on, I will add other instruments; I will let you know. After the “Airsong” album by Humboogie in 2005, I have played bass and sung in the progressive rock group Red Lizard (King Crimson, Rush). In 2006, Peter and I started the Rocker which plays Thin Lizzy, Deep Purple (MK.III&IV), Led Zeppelin as well as songs from “Airsong” and my first solo album. By now you may guess what will hit you from the speakers when you press the “play”… “The First Acoustic Free Rock Relationship” is a twelve-part journey into an imaginary relationship, not to be taken too seriously. English literature, poetry and film have given quite an ...
