Digitally remastered by Phil De Lancie (1994, Fantasy Studios, Berkeley, California). For this 1974 release, Jack DeJohnette adopted a two-guitar lineup of John Abercrombie and Mick Goodrick. Bassist Dave Holland and DeJohnette make a formidable rhythm section and play with incredible propulsion and grace. The album was recorded in the era following Miles Davis' BITCHES BREW (both Holland and DeJohnette worked with Davis), and the title track evokes similar moods, especially with DeJohnette's additional work on the electric piano, Bennie Maupin on bass clarinet, and Michael Fellerman on trombone. ...See Full Description
