| | Inlakesh Gathering CD Inlakesh Discography of CDs
The Music of Inlakesh is inspired by the manifestations and creative pulsations of consciousness: by Ceremonial music from around the world, the natural elements of Earth, wind and water, by the flickering lights of deep twilight and the sound an insect makes when its legs move through soft sand, in its own way changing the course of the world. By that sense of mystery you feel in your body while standing in the presence of an ancient pyramid overgrown in the deep jungle, whispers of its people and their visions floating on the warm breeze. When you ponder the possibilities of why the ancient Nazca constructed those monumental lines in the Peruvian desert visible only from high in the sky. By that glorious gaze of wonder in a young childs eyes when they first hear the sounds of a didgeridoo. By the profound simplicity of our being and divine connection we all have to each other. Inlakesh! \"I am another yourself\"Inlakesh formed in 1990 through the alchemy of Tanya Gerard and Rob Thomas, the core creatives of the group. Although Tanya grew up in Australia, she began playing the didjeridoo while visiting Tibetan communities in Dharamsala, North India during the mid 1980\'s. Based on the response of Tibetan Monks she encountered, she believes this was the first time the didjeridoo had visited the Dharamsala area. She has developed a warm, feminine style of intricately woven rythms and resonant patterns with the didjeridoo and creates many of the atmospheres of Inlakesh based on her extensive travels throughout the world. Rob was born in the United States and began playing didjeridoo 10 years ago while living in Australia. His zealous approach to the instrument and creative use of breath and voice, has resulted in a style of rythmic playing thats powerful, often conjuring images of distant landscapes and deep jungles. Together they have introduced thousands to the magic of the didjeridoo and have taught the art of playing, spreading the resonance throughout the United States. Rob & Tanya Currently reside in Santa Fe, New Mexico. U.S.A.Inlakesh donates a portion of the proceeds from every recording project to Enviornmental groups actively working to protect the natural diversity of life on this planet, and to the Drepung Loseling Educational Fund which supports young Tibetan Monks in their studies of the Dharma. For the Benefit of All Sentient Beings..... Peace & Dreams
Inkalesh includes: Tanya Gerard, Rob Thomas (didjeridoo). Recording information: 1999. Inlakesh is Rob Thomas and Tanya Gerard. They have been creating ethnic trance ambient since 1990. Their primary instrument is the didgeridoo. They augment the didg with ethnic percussion; Tibetan horns; sequenced grooves, atmospheres, and vocal samples; and chants. The Gathering is a set of deeply spiritual and emotional compositions dedicated to the beauty of tribal cultures. The acoustic beauty of this music gets deep into the hearts and souls of focused listeners and meditators. It is like Thomas and Gerard tuned the primordial percussion to match the biorhythms of those listeners. This CD, produced by Steve Roach, will appeal to fans of David Hudson, Trance Mission, Gary Thomas, Nomad, Roach, and Amir Baghiri. It is an important disc for fans of tribal ambience. For collectors of didg music, it is essential. ~ Jim Brenholts

$11.85 Personnel: Enya (vocals, various instruments); Pat Farrell & the Believers (guitar, 12-string guitar). Audio Mixer: Nicky Ryan. Recording information: Aigle Studio. Photographer: Simon Fowler. Arrangers: Enya; Nicky Ryan. Unlike Enya's 2006 EP, CHRISTMAS SECRETS, with which it shares no tracks, AND WINTER CAME is not a traditional Christmas album. It's more impressionistic than most, placing a handful of Christmas songs such as "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel" in the midst of a shimmering soundscape of keyboards, strings, and Enya's trademark overdubbed vocal chorales. The mostly original material does an exceptional job of evoking a comforting midwinter landscape without resorting to sleigh ...
