Personnel: Vinnie Moore (guitar), Andy West (bass), Tony MacAlpine (keyboards), Tommy Aldridge (drums). Personnel: Vinnie Moore (guitar); Tony MacAlpine (keyboards); Tommy Aldridge (drums). Recording information: Prairie Sun Studios, Cotati CA (08/1996). Who's faster: Yngwie Malmsteen or Vinnie Moore? That was the question back in 1986 when this recording was released. An obvious clone of Malmsteen, Moore burst upon the scene proving that, yes, someone else could play "that fast too." The problem with Mind's Eye and the subsequent genre of shredding that followed was that it became stagnant. Malmsteen turned heads from all musical styles because of his technical proficiency back in the early '80s, but those same heads quickly turned away to find out that there was little more being offered than really fast scales. The speed alone was not enough to hold many rock or fusion fans' interests for very long, as each guitarist seemed to be playing the same ideas, just at faster speeds. Without being too hard on Moore, he is one of the more interesting of the shredders and has one of the cleaner sounds. Ironically, Tony Macalpine is the keyboardist here and would soon emerge with an identical sound to Moore's. The better moments here are on the more aggressive numbers such as "In Control" and "Saved by a Miracle," with the latter containing a decent drum solo by the underrated Tommy Aldridge and a fine acoustic introduction by Moore. Mind's Eye is a classic in the shredder community, but rates as just a display of technical ability to the casual listener. ~ Robert Taylor Vinnie Moore Mind's Eye Songs | 1. | In Control |

| Mind's Eye Music Review Average Rating: (4.6 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Discover Vinnie Moore I've got all of his stuff and this is still the best I've heard for brilliant song construction and phenomenal playing. There is no singing and there doesn't need to be. He constructs each song on a melodic lead and then lays more leads on top of it. It's hard to pick a best song out of the first seven. Songs 8 and 9 finally mellow out but are still great.
This is melodic power metal of the highest order. Submitted by Ron S. (Mesa, Arizona) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
great work i personally prefer Vinnie to Yngwie 'cause he's smoother, more emotional, not just shred like hell like Yngwie. But try Vinnie Moore - Meltdown, it's much better Submitted by Minh (Germany) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Masterpiece This piece of music is ageless - it was way ahead of its time when it was first released in 1986 and still sounds crisp and fills me with unexplicable inner joy everytime I play it. Tony McAlpine on keyboards is also awesome. It's as if Mozart and Bach had teamed up for a little fun that turns out to be an eternal classic. $18.99 drop-d.ie album and gig review"Thank God for Lucas, who prove that they can not only live up to the high standards set by their long residence in Irelands west (they’ve been together in one shape or form for the past 7 years) but, with the launch of their sublime sophomore effort “Letters to a Friend”, far exceed prior expectations.Recorded over a matter of 6 months – amazing when you consider the quality in every aspect of the recording and production – the album marks their quasi-return to the fold after an 8-month hiatus. Having worked in the past with producer Rob Fraboni (producer of such seminal artists as Dylan, The Rolling Stones and Joe Cocker) this effort was created domestically in Abhaile Studios Ballinrobe. Lead singer Alan Gray maintains that “going into this we knew a lot better where we were at and what exactly we wanted to do after the first album (“Pieced From Faded Memory”)”. With the album finished, packaged and ready to distribute independently, all that was left was to pitch the new material to the punters of the Roisin Dubh, the bands home crowd if you will. There have been many changes to line – up of Lucas since its conception in 2000, but as the members file onstage for the launch of their album in the Roisin Dubh, it’s visible that this is how it was meant to be played. Arranging themselves behind their preferred weapons, guitarist Anto, bassist Aidan “The Engine” Kenny and drummer Peadar Carney surround vocalist Alan Gray with the air of troops being led once more into the breach. But one thing is distinct from their poise as they lull the crowd into the serene “Another Song for You and Me”, there is no front man or centre to this universe; it truly is a collective effort. Talking to Alan later that night, his unabashed enthusiasm for his cohorts and self-deprecating manner is infectious. As chief lyric writer he bears a lot of the weight of the bands success, but he is keen to establish that each of the members create a part of the bigger picture.“Aidan plays so intelligently,” he articulates, “he never plays fills just for the sake of playing fills – everything is exactly where it should be. The basis of this band is Anto on guitar, Aidan on bass and Peadar on drums – I play parts on the guitar but it’s mainly to add another layer to the sound more than anything”.Just as the instrumental aspects of the music are of the highest order, so to are the lyrics. Charged with emotion and regaling both the good times and the bad, Alan’s astute observations round off the audio meaning of the songs. From the simple, yet unassumingly effective, longing for what might have been in “Another Song for You and Me” to the heart wrenching sting ...

$17.85 Many say she's got the voice of an angel and an unique way of phrasing... Her music is relaxing, mysterious and gives soul food to its listeners... She is called Adrienn Antal. The artist name AdryA comes from her nickname Adry to which she added the initial of her second name, a capital "A". Her excellent ear and sense for music, her clean voice were already noticed in the early nursery school years. She's been impressed by many styles of music, especially by rock (AOR and progressive), synth-pop, dark, alternative and a bit of industrial music. Some of her most favourite bands/performers are: Depeche Mode, Yes, U2, Nine Inch Nails, A-ha, Europe, Asia, Glenn Hughes and a well known hungarian singer/songwriter/poet called Ákos. While in elementary school she learnt to play the piano and took solfeggio lessons for 6 years. Besides practising and playing classical works, she wrote several compositions on her own. Later she headed towards light music, created more and more complex songs with the help of the synthesizer. This time she started to sing regularly. After finishing high school, she founded and joined several bands whom she had many live shows with. She also regularly appeared as a guest singer on two well known hungarian rock bands' stage: P. Mobil and Tunyogi Rock Band.In 2004 she decided to walk her own path and recorded a demo titled On the Waves all alone. Only the guitar parts were played ...
