| | Racer X Live Extreme, Vol. 2 CD Racer X Discography of CDs
(3 Customer Reviews)
This is the second live album from Racer X, released well after the band had broken up in the late '80s. Cut from the same sonic cloth as its predecessor Live Extreme, Vol. 1, it offers more of the same over-the-top instrumental indulgences and cartoonish heavy metal sentiments of that album. For fans of the band, it features some previously unreleased originals: "Poison Eyes" and "Give It to Me" as well as a cover of Kiss' "Detroit Rock City." Production assistance is provided by GGGarth, of Rage Against the Machine and L7 fame. ~ Andy Hinds

Great live cd! Great cd, especially "Poison Eyes","Sunlit Nights",and "Heart Of A Lion", which is the actually the one with the "Dazed and Confused" intro, not "Poison Eyes". Submitted by pstarr (Groveport, Ohio) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
RACER X PLAYS # COVER SONGS ON THIS CD!! Excellent follow-up to Extreme Volume 1!
This cd contains a rare into-"Dazed & Confused" to the start of "Poison Eyes".
The CD starts with a JS Bach intro theme and features "Heart of a Lion" originally written by Judas Priest as well as "Detriot Rock City" by KISS.
The CD contains only 9 songs but is a great addition to Extreme Volume #1. Submitted by Music Lover (Tahoe, California) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

He performs at locations across the United States and consistently plays to sold-out concerts in major venues along Utah's Wasatch Front. As a teenager, Jon was inspired by the early albums of Mannheim Steamroller. His televised concert, "A Jon Schmidt Christmas," has fast become a successful yearly tradition. After airing of the PBS concert, hundreds of messages were left on KUED's viewer line with comments such as "I couldn't turn it off" and "one of the most incredible hours I've spent on a Saturday night in a long time."
