BEING MYSELF is a remixed, re-released version of an album that was originally issued by Warlock records in 1994. These earlier cuts provide a glimpse of the lyrical craft that Juvenile would later perfect as he took the hip-hop world by storm in the late '90s. On choice tracks like "U Can't Come Around," "Sling It to Tha Back," and "G-ing Men," Juvenile pours forth the passionate rhymes that fans have come to expect from him.
What makes BEING MYSLEF different from later Juvenile releases is the collection's lack of Southern bounce. Though the backbeats and instrumental touches are strong in their own right, they're of a separate class from the familiar production sound that Juvenile rode to success in later years. Other highlights include "Betcha' 20 Dollars" and "If You're a Player." Though not the best collection for neophytes, BEING MYSELF should be sought out by seasoned fans.

R. was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best R&B Album. "I'm Your Angel" was nominated for the 1999 Grammy Award for Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals. "When A Woman's Fed Up" was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance.
R. Kelly proves that he's as prolific as he is talented on the two-disc set R., which not only culls together his most noteworthy and successful work, but is bursting with new tracks as well. Filled from start to finish with Kelly's unique blend of smooth vocal stylings and no-nonsense lyrical stance, this album also features the work of a few of his prominent friends--the opener, "Home Alone" sports a guest rap courtesy of Keith Murray, while "Money Makes The World Go Round" is graced by Nas.
A more mainstream pairing is witnessed in the dramatic show stopper "I'm your Angel," which finds Kelly alongside superstar Celine Dion, but the collaboration which really makes its mark is "We Ride," which features Cam'Ron, Noreaga, Jay-Z and Vegas Cats in a veritable who's who of Hip Hop's brightest stars. As if all this weren't enough, the mega-hit "I Believe I Can Fly" is included for good measure. Newcomers to the world of R. Kelly will be attracted by the hits, but they're sure to stay for the instant classics and star-studded party jams which make up the rest of R.

About THE GRAND-I have always dreamt about being in a band, says Amund Maarud, singer and guitarist in the Norwegian power-quartet The Grand, without the slightest touch of irony. Well, most rock musicians do just that, right? So whatﾃつｴs up with Amund?Thing is, Amund has actually always been in a band. More accurately; Amund has always fronted his own band. He has put out three albums, the first one when he and drummer brother Henrik were in their mid teens and still played with their father. He has travelled his native Norway for the last five-six years as a professional musician, and is actually a decorated veteran of the remarkably large Norwegian blues scene. He has headlined festivals and he has played with and alongside guitar legends, international as well as local. And yet, Amund Maarud is not even 25.The great thing about The Grand is the fact that the quartet works as a four cylinder engine, says studio-engineer Sven Olsen (Ricochets, Sivert Hﾃδｸyem, Dum Dum Boys), who recorded The Grands debut EP, to be released on The Grand Recordings/Sonet the 21st. of May of this year. -Every member of the band is crucially important. This is not at all about Amund showing off his impeccable guitar skills, he says.-This is one of the coolest things Iﾃつｴve ever worked with. Olsen is not the only one who had a great time recording The Grand in legendary Athletic Sound Studio of Halden, Norway.-We enjoyed ourselves immensly as well, and weﾃつｴll be back to record our first full length album later in the spring, Henrik declares. At the time weﾃつｴre working out the new material in our rehearsal space. Hopefully itﾃつｴll be out by early fall. Alongside the Maarud brothers, The Grand consists of keyboard-player Eirik Knutsen and bassist Per Tobro.
