Personnel: Seth Putnam (guitar, piano). Recording information: Iguana Studios, Weymouth, Massa (09/20/1992). Photographer: Kurt Hubert. An early A.C. release reissued in 1998, Morbid Florist is a barely listenable blast of lightning-fast noise, and unbearably slow, grinding guitar passages, as is typical of the group. The amusingly snotty song titles that have become the group's trademark are not as much in evidence here, but there are a few laughs waiting for those who can withstand A.C's misanthropic assault. ~ Steve Huey AC Morbid Florist Songs | 1. | Some Songs |

Nickleback's sixth album doesn't stake out new ground, but this Canadian post-grunge quartet is known for their allegiance to old-school hard rock values. That allegiance is borne out on 2008's DARK HORSE, a collection of riff-driven rockers and power ballads that thrives on simple chord progressions, distortion-heavy ...

The song was also nominated for the 2001 Grammy Award for Best R&B Song. THE HEAT was nominated for the 2001 Grammy Award for Best R&B Album. Photographer: Daniela Federici. Toni Braxton went through a lot in the years separating her star-making Toni Braxton and her 2000 comeback The Heat. Yes, she became a star, but she also went through a painful bankruptcy that delayed her sequel for years. Fortunately, you wouldn't be able to tell that there was so much behind-the-scenes drama from The Heat -- it's a confident, assured, sexy effort that reaffirms Braxton's status as one of the finest contemporary mainstream soul singers. She may not be as street-smart as Mary J. Blige, nor does she push the boundaries of the genre the way TLC does, but she has a full, rich voice that instantly lends her songs a sense of maturity and sensuality, especially since she never, ever oversings or misjudges her material. And, while that material can occasionally be a little generic, much of The Heat is built on solid ballads and smoldering, mid-tempo dance numbers. Producers as diverse as Babyface, Rodney ...

Morbid Florist
$34.29 Founded in 1933 by Leonard Slye (who became Roy Rogers when he left the group in 1937 to become a movie star), the Sons of the Pioneers had a smooth as silk vocal style and, thanks in no small part to the songwriting skills of group members Bob Nolan and Tim Spencer, created a California cowboy landscape that corresponded to the public's perception of a lost Golden Age, much like what another California group, the Beach Boys, did 30 years later with their surfing and car songs. Songs like "Tumbling ...

$17.09 ABOUT DONNA and HER MUSICDonna Michael, on the Quarterlight label, is a composer and singer/songwriter whose critically acclaimed acoustic piano contemporary instrumental and vocal recordings have been described as "a heavenly escape," "food for the soul," and "wondrously healing." Her original piano compositions immerse the listener in a world of grace, elegance and quiet passion. Her vocal style is gently expressive and delicately honest. Donna's music is perfect for healing, hope, inspiration, creativity, wellness, meditation, massage, yoga and much more. Technically superb yet deeply touching, here is music that whispers encouragement and love. From Donna, about this album--"Many of you know me as a composer and solo pianist. Sometimes my melodies have words--whether I write them or whether you create them as you listen. Because you have asked, here is music that comes from or touches my heart--and hopefully yours as well. Thank you for listening--and for believing."---DonnaA Strange Story--One night during our recording sessions (just as I started singing "The Will of the Wind") we suddenly found ourselves in the midst of a severe thunderstorm, one block from what appeared to be "ground zero" of a tornado. The storm ripped the roof from a nearby building, downed countless trees, and left us holding on to the tapes in the darkness and searching for candles...But that was just the beginning...every single day there were more storms, heavy rains, high winds, and subsequent loss of electrical power. Each time we thought we couldn't continue the project, we did. Sound Emporium (our recording studio) was operational only an hour before we were to resume our next recording session, and Scruggs Sound Studio was silent and dark for several days until the very afternoon we started the final mix.Seemed like the wind--and something much more--was everywhere we were...Instrumental AlbumsMUSIC FOR MEDITATION, RENEWAL and CREATIVITYDonna has released several critically acclaimed instrumental collections, ranging from deeply soothing stream-of-consciousness recordings ("Somewhere in the Silence" and "When Silence Whispers") to music for inspiration, creativity, ...
