| | Best Of The Tams CD - Import Tams Discography of CDs
The Best of the Tams features 14 songs from singles that they recorded for ABC-Paramount between 1963 and 1969, their most productive era. The collection includes "What Kind of Fool (Do You Think I Am?)," "Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy," and a few late-'60s songs by Joe South. This is decent, somewhat retro-flavored (even for the time) soul with heavy pop and doo wop influences, sounding at times like a very unschooled variation of the early Impressions. Unfortunately, this doesn't include their early-'60s hit "Untie Me," which was recorded before the group joined ABC-Paramount. ~ Richie Unterberger
They were a popular East Coast "Beach Music" group who released many uptempo popular R&B hits in the 1960's. Atlanta's Tams found an audience in regional markets, but were unable to break the fascination with the Motown sound of the time to be able to expand their audience nationwide because their label didn't have the muscle that Berry Gordy did. Still, the group delivered several times with "Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy", "What Kind Of Fool Do You Think I Am" and "Hey Girl Don't Bother Me".

Best Of The Tams album
$6.09 Depending on the mood you're in, this compilation album will make you dream, smile, or cry a nostalgic tear. It is a typical Windham Hill sampler: wistful, joyful, lush, and lovely. Most songs stick with piano or string instrumentation, and none of them could ever be classified as up-tempo. A few of the tracks, including "The Gift" and "Sung to Sleep," sound like Windham Hill's famous pianist George Winston, but they are actually performed by lesser-known artists. The selections are an interesting combination of classical pieces ("Chorale #220," J.S. Bach), traditional melodies ("Come Life Shaker Life"), and ...
| | Bobby Vee With Strings And Things/Sings Hits Of The Rockin' '50'S CD (1999) (Import) United Kingdom
Best Of The Tams CD music
$13.14 This is a pretty cool combination of two Bobby Vee albums from 1960/1961 that are stronger together than they were separately. With Strings and Things is the softer of the two, though it has its cool rock & roll moments, while Sings Hits of the Rockin' '50's generally focuses better on rock & roll, ...

| | Neil Young Rust Never Sleeps CD (1979)
Best Of The Tams songs
$8.89 As far as pure songcraft goes, it's hard to beat this 1979 offering from Neil Young and Crazy Horse. By the end of the '90s, Young, Talbot, Molina, and Sampredo had refined their crushing sonic assault to the extent that they could bludgeon the listener with ...
| | Shakira She Wolf CD (2009)
Best Of The Tams album
$15.15 Shakira's brand new English album She Wolf is an uptempo pop album. It is all about synthesizers and electronic concepts, all mixed with the world sounds that we are used to from Shakira.. sounds from countries like India, the Middle East and her home country of Colombia. She Wolf features a predominantly English track list with a follow up album of new and unique repertoire in Spanish to come in 2010. The title track "She-Wolf " boasts the infectious and energizing sound that made Shakira a household name, with a slightly more dancey/ electronic beat (about 125 beats per minute). Though most tracks on the upcoming album will be in English, Shakira chose to service the Spanish version of the first single, "Loba", two weeks before the English single is launched.
Last time around, Shakira touched upon so many styles she couldn't be contained on one album, splitting Oral Fixation in two. This time, she focuses on one sound only: a pulsating electro-disco that crosses all boundaries and welcomes all nationalities. Such concentration behooves Shakira, freeing her to release her inner She Wolf, a wild wacko who's as coo coo as she is carnal. And for as sexy as Shakira is -- crucially, her music is sexy too -- what really gives She Wolf its bite is her inspired nuttiness, how she laments that Matt Damon's not meant for her, and wishes her ex-lover and his new girl a horrible vacation where the room smells and the toilet doesn't ...
