(3 Customer Reviews)
An early studio recording featuring perhaps the best, or at least most popular, backing band lineup, Danger Zone is not up to the standard of Sammy Hagar's best material: be it the earliest, hardest rocking music (most notably, the debut Montrose effort) or his very successful early '80s MOR rock. "The red rocker" does put together a couple nice moments, displaying the deft songwriting that would keep him on top of the hard rock sales and radio charts for well over 20 years. Songs like "20th Century Man" and "Love or Money" definitely drive this relatively heavy Hagar offering, and the Bay Area musician slows things down nicely on "Run for Your Life." There are a couple soft spots on the Danger Zone's track list, and when that is coupled with that fact that no real essential Hagar anthems or radio hits exist on this release, it can only be recommended to serious fans of the artist. ~ Vincent Jeffries

Sammy Hagar Danger Zone Songs Danger Zone Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Vintage Red Rocker At His Best This is an after Montrose classic, just like Street Machine Submitted by TSCorvette98 (Greenville, IL, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Great Sammy Hagar CD This is one of the best Sammy Hagar CDs out. If you find that parping 80s synthesizers tended to mar some of his recordings, then get this one. It's just guitar, great songs and no filler. Stand out track: Run for your life. Submitted by dwjcarson (Madrid, Spain) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Hottest Sammy there is. I first bought this on Vinyl back in
1980-1981. I had never heard anything
of the album before. At the time I
purchased, Hagar was on Elekra and 3Lock Box, Standing Hampton were out.
Danger Zone is BEFORE that, and Before
his sound went 'commercial'....It is
strait forward, guitar pounding Rock-n-Roll. The Red Rocker didn't get any
better than on Danger Zone. Submitted by a reviewer (Cedar Park, TX) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

| | Kenny Aaronson Through The Fire CD (1984)
Danger Zone
$6.55 Journey axeman Neal Schon satisfies his yearning for a four-piece Van Halen/Montrose environment through meat-and-potatoes metalhead Sammy Hagar on this heavily doctored live document, the creatively titled Through the Fire. Journeyman Aaronson, who looks cool and played bass on tour with Billy Idol, gives some new wave credence to this quartet, in image only. Like Schon, drummer Shrieve also boasts Santana roots. Most importantly, each member held the same management. Of course, Through ...
| | Sammy Hagar CD (1977) (Import) United Kingdom
Danger Zone
$17.15 One of Sammy Hagar's better early-career outings, this eponymous effort is most commonly referred to as The Red Album. Starting off with one of the most affective rock anthems that Hagar would write during his solo career, "Red," the rest of the disc maintains its generally energetic pace and relatively high quality. Joining guitarist/vocalist Hagar on the 1977 release ...
| | Sammy Hagar Nine On A Ten Scale CD (1976) (Import) United Kingdom
Danger Zone
$17.15 While most would suggest that the seminal American hard rock debut from the Sammy Hagar-fronted Montrose is the real coming-out for the singer/guitarist, serious Hagar fans might disagree and offer that title to Nine on a Ten Scale. After two discs with Montrose (a self-titled record and Paper Money), Hagar struck out on his own and quickly released this solo debut after Capitol Records snatched up the hot young vocalist in 1976. If Hagar was anxious to show that he had musical skills that extended way beyond the gravel-voiced, Led Zeppelin-esque howling that he had demonstrated with Ronnie Montrose's heavy metal outfit, this recording definitely ...
| | Sammy Hagar Musical Chairs CD (1981)
Danger Zone
$15.19 One of Sammy Hagar's rawest recordings, Musical Chairs features some guitars that are a treat for listeners fond of the much tougher, uncompromising music that Hagar used throughout the '70s to build one of the largest followings for an American hard rock solo artist. With a strong backing lineup that included former Montrose alum Denny Carmassi (drums), Bill Church (bass), and Alan Fitzgerald (keys), Hagar's music comes off lean and mean. Thanks especially to Hagar himself and longtime musical associate Gary Pihl, the riffing on Musical Chairs separates the recording from many hard rock issues of the ...
| | Sammy Hagar Street Machine CD (1979) (Import) England; Remastered; United Kingdom
Danger Zone
$16.19 Released in 1979, Street Machine is Sammy Hagar's fifth solo studio release for Capitol records, and like many of his previous offerings, the record has more than a few highlights, but fails to fulfill on the musician's songwriting and performing promise. The recording is tighter than prior efforts, thanks to essential backup members Bill Church (bass), Chuck Ruff (drums), and, last but certainly not least, ...

$13.15 This CD is true to its name because it has some of the best music styles from the Caribbean and provides lavish sounds that you will never forget. From "Caribbean Dancing" to "Flamenco love," the music both excites and showers you with an ecstasy of beatiful music. The Caribbean is truly a melting pot of many stimulating styles of music. You won't be able to sit still and your imagination will take over and you will be teleported to the Islands. Join me in feeling and dreaming about the magic of the Caribbean. While attending college, I played at various bars and resorts to help pay for my education as a physicist. This valuable exposure to the life of working musicians convinced me to continue my education and make my way in the world of science. However, life throws interesting curves, and my goals and objectives were tinkered with and music never left the scene. Between extensive business travel and sailboat racing, I was introduced to Central and South America and most of the islands, especially in our hemisphere. Their rhythms and melodies never left me, until they exploded into a never-ending outpouring of musical compositions and a need to share them. Florida sailing out of Cape Canaveral brought the Bahamas and all of its delicious and outrageous counter beats into my music while the endless surf beating on the hot sands of hundreds of islands brought me their catchy melodies floating on the wind. New Orleans and space rockets brought a mix of sound as tasty as the foods served behind old and rustic exteriors surrounding antique furnishings and indoor courtyards, and the beat goes on. While in Houston, I found myself playing the vibraphones and keyboards with a Hawaiian music group. This added a new musical dimension and lifelong friends who helped me pursue island music beyond my known boundaries. Science taught me about the boundless energy in the universe; traveling by sailboat to hundreds of islands and Central and South America provided me musical experiences well beyond the reach of classrooms, TV and high tech studies. The creation of music, in my case, is based on the emotional settings and my response to them. ...
