ASSAULT ATTACK/ROCK WILL NEVER DIE was originally released as two seperate LPs.
This compilation pairs Michael Schenker's lackluster third album, Assault Attack -- his only collaboration with former Rainbow frontman Graham Bonnett -- with an even less inspired live album, Rock Will Never Die. Convenient yes, but still mostly unnecessary. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
1982 and 1984 LP's from Schenker and the final two of the recent BGO releases. Rock Will Never Die was recorded live at Hammersmith and featured Gary Barden on vocals.

$17.15 All songs written by Michael Schenker & Gary Barden, except "Into The Arena" (Schenker), "Never Trust A Stranger" (Paul Raymond), "Let Sleeping Dogs Lie" (Schenker/Barden/Glen/Raymond/Powell), and "Doctor Doctor" (Schenker/Mogg).
The question on the minds of most Michael Schenker fans is usually this -- when will he ever finally get his due? Apparently, the German axeman is practically the Rodney Dangerfield of metal. He's somehow managed to anchor two of the most important bands in the lineage of the genre and influence everyone from Metallica to Powerman 5000, and yet, while he continues have a rabid fan base writhing away in the shadows and is still widely recognized in countries like Japan where technical prowess is highly prized, he remains relatively unknown to American ...

| | Brent Arnold Last Boat CD (2004)
Assault Attack/Rock Will Never Die album
$10.59 Brent Arnold leads a bit of a musical double life. He splits his time between playing cello and creating lush arrangements for Northwestern indie rockers like Modest Mouse, Mike Johnson, and Sleater-Kinney and playing with avant jazzers like Andrew Drury and Eyvind Kang. On his first album under his own name, he has chosen the former path. Last Boat is a intricately arranged, emotionally charged indie rock record that nimbly straddles the line between Northwest moroseness and chamber pop good cheer. Arnold has a simple, unprepossessing voice that hovers below the intertwining guitars and sawing strings. The band he has assembled is suitably restrained, and their vocal harmonies abet Arnold's cause winningly. The best tracks on the record, like the heartbroken "I ...

$25.69 Recorded in New York, New York on April 20, 1939 and March 25, April 1 & April 8, 1944. Includes liner notes by Stuart Nicholson.
Recorded in New York, New York between 1939 & 1944. Includes liner notes by J.G. Calvados.
This double-disc issued by Jazz Factory almost completely mirrors the United States issue of the same material entitled THE COMPLETE COMMODORE RECORDINGS, officially issued by Universal in 1997. The material was recorded in 1939 and 1944 by producer Milt Gabler. The original 78 that was "Strange Fruit" b/w "Fine and Mellow," was released by Gabler because Columbia's John Hammond refused to record the song. Holiday was under contract to the label at the time, but Hammond loosed the reins a bit and allowed her the leeway to cut it for Commodore. There are two other sides cut in 1939, and the remainder of these tunes were taped during ...
