Definitely Underrated! I have played Tropico almost daily since first buying the CD in '86, and have yet to get sick of it!! Seven the Hard Way, my LP is worn out and now I have the chance to keep it forever on CD! Woo hoo!! By a reviewer (Springfield, Ma, USA)
An essential purchase! This 2-on-1 reissue is worth the money alone just for "Sex As A Weapon". Seven The Hard Way will ALWAYS be my fave PB album. By Dave (United Kingdom)
Pat SERIOUSLY Rocks Tropico is a great album, but... wait till you hear Seven... it's totally brilliant. Le Bel Age, what a classic, one of the best songs of all time! The Art Of Letting Go is also great at showcasing Pat's dynamic vocal range. By matt shearer (Hobart TAS AUSTRALIA)

Deep Purple Perfect Strangers CD (1984) Top Seller
Tropico/Seven the Hard Way songs Digitally remastered by Suha Ger (Universal Music Group Studios).
In the early '80s, many of the top metal acts of the past had either disbanded or soldiered on despite the loss of founding members. Deep Purple had officially disbanded in 1976, with only two original members present in the final lineup, but by 1984, the classic lineup of vocalist Ian Gillan, guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, bassist Roger Glover, drummer Ian Paice, and keyboardist Jon Lord had reunited. Responsible for such classics as MACHINE HEAD and MADE IN JAPAN, the group was considered amongst metal's elite, and judging from its first comeback album, 1984's PERFECT STRANGERS, DEEP PURPLE hadn't lost its magic touch in the slightest.
The album was a major worldwide hit, going platinum in the U.S., and spawning several rock radio hits. Despite the changes that occurred in the musical landscape during the band's absence, the group did not change its sound much for the reunion, sticking to the ingredients that made them so exceptional in the first place--Gillan's wailing vocals, Blackmore's shredding guitar, and the rock-steady three-part rhythm section. The title track recalls Led Zeppelin's sprawling epics ("Kashmir," etc.), while the melodic rockers "Knocking At Your Back Door" and "Nobody's Home" prove to be standouts as well.

Lindsey Buckingham Law and Order CD (1981) Top Seller
Tropico/Seven the Hard Way buy CD music Over the years, Lindsey Buckingham has written some of Fleetwood Mac's best known songs, including "Go Your Own Way" and "Second Hand News." Buckingham is often seen by Mac fans as the dark, eccentric member of the group, and his first solo recording, LAW AND ORDER, does little to dispel that notion.
LAW AND ORDER makes it plain that it was Buckingham's influence that occasionally nudged the affable and accessible pop band to the outer reaches of pop peculiarity, most particularly on their oddball opus, TUSK. LAW AND ORDER includes the fine hit single, "Trouble," which features a jaw-dropping Buckingham guitar solo. (Buckingham plays nearly all of the instruments on this release, showcasing his fierce musicality throughout.) In addition to "Trouble," LAW AND ORDER also features the pop gem "Love from Here, Love from There." There are also a handful of interesting cover songs on this 11-song, 1981 release, including the country standard, "A Satisfied Mind," and Kurt Weill's "September Song."
Personnel: Lindsey Buckingham (vocals, guitar); Christine McVie, Carol Harris (vocals); Mick Fleetwood (drums).
Recording information: Burbank Backroom; Larrabee Sound; Wally Heider's.
Personnel: Lindsey Buckingham (vocals, various instruments); George Hawkins (bass); Carol Harris, Christine McVie (background vocals).

True Love CD (1991)
Tropico/Seven the Hard Way album for sale A radical departure from the type of slick pop/rock she'd been embracing on albums like Tropico and Wide Awake in Dreamland, True Love found Pat Benatar embracing blues and early pre-rock R&B. Opting for less production and a much rawer approach, an inspired Benatar ditches the synthesizers and keyboards and sounds like she's leading a bar band in a Chicago dive. From Albert King's "I Get Evil" to B.B. King's "Payin' the Cost to Be the Boss" to Charles Brown's "Please Come Home for Christmas," the results aren't breathtaking, but are generally honest and soulful. Quite clearly, this was an album Benatar was eager to make. ~ Alex Henderson

In The Heat Of The Night/Crimes Of Passion CD (1998)
Tropico/Seven the Hard Way CD music BGO's 1998 two-fer of Pat Benatar's first two and best albums doesn't have much flash or flair -- no bonus tracks, or full-page replicas of the covers -- but the sound is crisp and punchy, better than the U.S. releases of the albums, and it has good liner notes from Alan Robinson. Besides, there's a certain kind of Benatar fan who wants to hear the rockers when they listen to her, not the hits, and this is the best place to hear them. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

Live From Earth/Wide Awake In Dreamland CDs (2004)

Tropico/Seven the Hard Way songs This CD features two albums from hard-rock singer Pat Benatar. LIVE FROM EARTH is a 1983 concert recording that includes her smash hits "Heartbreaker", "Hit Me With Your Best Shot", and "Love is a Battlefield". WIDE AWAKE IN DREAMLAND is mellower and features her last chart hit, "All Fired Up".
Great Britain's Beat Goes On label does its usual bang-up job on this two-fer from fiery songstress Pat Benatar and continues its reissue series of her seminal '80s records. This pairing is rather unusual because they don't add up chronologically, but it hardly matters because they are so well suited to one another. Live from Earth was released in 1983 as a way of offering fans highlights from her star-making tours of America and Europe during the period of her greatest popularity. The hits are here, especially the poignant and unbelievably hard rocking "Hell Is for Children" and "Hit Me with Your Best Shot," with its timely new wave structure that combined roots rock and the newer synthetic sounds of the era. The power ballad "Love Is a Battlefield" is also present in perhaps its finest version. 1988's Wide Awake in Dreamland was chronologically separated from this set by five years and two studio albums, as Benatar's star power began to fade -- but that had nothing to do with her talent, or the inspired material found here. Benatar was transitioning as an artist, trying to become a first-rate pop singer and to write more topical and widely accessible material -- thanks to her producer and musical partner Neil Geraldo. They may have played the marketplace hunch wrong, but they got the artistic merit right. This set is among Benatar's most personal, spiritual, and uplifting recordings. And while some of the sounds are dated -- most '80s records are plagued by this -- the material and her performance are nothing less than inspired. Check out "One Love (Song of the Lion)," "All Fired Up," and "Suffer the Little Children" for evidence. This is a great package with stellar sound and good liner notes by Mark Chatterton. ~ Thom Jurek
