| | Andrea Bocelli - "Vivere" Live In Tuscany DVDs (2007) With CD
Haydn: Nelson Mass/Kleine Orgelmesse
$20.05 Andrea Bocelli returns to his roots for this special performance in rural Tuscany. The show was filmed in the town of Lajatico, where the acclaimed tenor grew up, and features 18 songs from Bocelli's back catalogue. Among the guests joining the celebrations are Kenny G, Sarah Brightman, and Chris Botti.
Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli's career is full of rare, unusual, and often daring choices. Boccelli is best known as an opera star, but he has also crossed over into the world of pop. This live performance, captured on camera in Bocelli's quaint home town of Lajatico in Tuscany, sees the singer attempting to build bridges between the musical worlds he inhabits by inviting a wide array of guests to join him on stage. Among the performers are Kenny G, Sarah Brightman, Laura Pausini, and Chris Botti.
This DVD/CD set captures Bocelli's first ever concert performance of his most popular songs featuring guests Chris Botti, Kenny G., Lang Lang, Sarah Brightman, Heather Headley, Elisa, and Laura Pausini. July 2007, on the slopes of Bocelli's hometown, Lajatico, a rural village in Tuscany, a special theater was constructed for a one-night-only concert of his greatest popular hits along with new songs performed to honor the occasion. Extras include photo gallery, behind the scenes interviews, and more.
| | Art Tatum Piano Starts Here: Live At The Shrine (2008)
Haydn: Nelson Mass/Kleine Orgelmesse
$13.99 This is a hybrid Super Audio CD playable on both regular and Super Audio CD players.
Few jazz pianists could ever hope to rival the technical mastery of Art Tatum. From the 1930s on through the `50s, Tatum's dazzling facility made it seem as if two pianists were playing at once. Though he often performed solo, his virtuosity allowed him to make the transition from swing to bebop effortlessly. Tatum's eclectic style also reflected influences from blues and classical music, and from early jazz and pop music of the time.
Long considered a classic album, PIANO STARTS HERE was assembled from studio and live sources from 1933 and 1949, respectively. Thanks to 21st-century technology however, PIANO has received a new lease on life, containing previously edited selections presented in their entirety, previously unissued tunes, and vastly improved sound quality. For lovers of the history of the jazz piano, PIANO STARTS HERE is essential.
