| | Bob Mover Two Of A Kind CD Bob Mover Discography of CDs
Pianist John Hicks and bassist Ray Drummond had not worked together often when they recorded the 11 tracks on this '80 session. Neither was the consensus star that they are in the '90s, but they were already accomplished soloists. Their union yielded some superb, distinctive playing on this collection of mostly standards. Hicks nicely outlined the basic melodies, then began probing their structure, reworking and restating, finding his own directions and expressing fresh thoughts without distorting the songs. Drummond's heavy yet sometimes barely audible basslines were both supportive and compelling, at times contrasting Hicks and at other times establishing its own direction. They were a true duo, each player conscious of the other but able to make his own way. ~ Ron Wynn
Recorded at Bear West Studios, San Francisco, California. Includes liner notes by Ray Drummond.
Personnel: John Hicks (piano); Ray Drummond (bass).
Producers: Ray Drummond, Allen Pittman, John Hicks.
Down Beat (5/92, p.53) - 5 Stars - Excellent - "...a lovely duo album...The pianist's lyrical, Evans-like voicings set the mood while the bassist's fat, bear-hug notes add to the warmth..." Bob Mover Two Of A Kind Songs | 1. | I'll Be Around |

| | Allman Brothers Band Dreams CDs (1989) Box Set
Two Of A Kind CD music
$38.09 DREAMS is a 4-CD box set compiling in chronological order tracks by the Allman Brothers Band, as well as tracks by bands featuring one or more member of the Allman Brothers Band and solo performances by Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts.
Recorded between 1966 & 1988. Includes a 32-page illustrated booklet and liner notes by John Swenson.
Like nearly all box sets, DREAMS has plenty to recommend it-and a few nagging drawbacks. The set's chief shortcoming is its two conflicting goals: providing an overview of the Allmans' history, thus attracting buyers seeking the ultimate hits package, and including enough unreleased tracks and rarities to appeal ...
| | Poco Forgotten Trail (1969-74) CDs (1990)
Two Of A Kind music CDs
$15.29 This compilation contains 38 songs, including many new remixes from original master tapes, 6 previously unreleased songs, alternate versions of 3 others, and a comprehensive 36 page booklet, with historic liner notes and photos.
This excellent two-disc collection captures Poco's finest moments from the days when they were laying down the template for all the country-rock music that was to follow. It's hard to remember, but when the Eagles first hit the scene, they were thought by many to be a Poco-wannabe band. Listen to this set and you'll hear why. The Forgotten Trail (1969-1974) culls tracks from Poco's first eight albums, as well as unreleased cuts and singles. From the classic anthem "Pickin' Up the Pieces," which kicks things off, through "You Better Think Twice," "C'mon," "Kind Woman," "From the Inside," "A Good Feelin' ...
| | Bill Evans Consecration CDs (2002) Box Set
Two Of A Kind songs
$110.69 While it's true that this eight-CD box set was issued in Japan and in Europe briefly, none of its performances have been heard in any form in the United States. This is the companion piece to Milestone's previously issued eight-CD The Last Waltz. Like the previous collection, these live dates with Evans' final trio -- Marc Johnson on bass and Joe LaBarbera on drums -- were recorded at the Keystone Korner in San Francisco between August 31 and September 7, 1980, about a week before Evans' death (September 15, 1980). What separates the two is that this set is comprised primarily of first sets. If one assembles these two collections with the Warner Bros.-released final Village Vanguard concerts, Turn Out the Stars, there is undeniable evidence that not only was Evans in a state of creative rebirth at the end of his life, ...

Two Of A Kind songs
$14.69 This is a hybrid Super Audio CD playable on both regular and Super Audio CD players.
After a six-year span since making her final recording for Concord, singer Eden Atwood's triumphant return to the studio exudes a confidence that some writers think was lacking in her earlier work. With first-rate arrangements by pianist Bill Cunliffe and a supporting cast including alto saxophonist and flutist Pete Christlieb, guitarist Anthony Wilson, bassist Darek Oles, drummer Joe LaBarbera, and percussionist Scott Breadman, Atwood delves into memorable tunes by Antonio Carlos Jobim ("Meditation," "The Girl From Ipanema," and "He's a Carioca") as well as bossa nova treatments of Duke Ellington's overlooked gem "Don't You Know I Care?," Irving Berlin's ...
