This Evidence CD, which reissues the music on a Theresa LP while adding two "new" selections, has four trio numbers featuring pianist John Hicks with two friends (bassist Walter Booker and drummer Idris Muhammad), an opportunity for vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson to sit in (on Sonny Rollins' "Paul's Pal"), a Hicks duet with flutist Elise Wood, and a pair of piano solos including a medley of "Some Other Time" and "Some Other Spring." An excellent example of Hicks' playing abilities and an enjoyable set of modern hard bop. ~ Scott Yanow
