Original music composed by Harry Gregson-Williams. Personnel: Martin Tillman (cello); Steve Kujala (bass flute). Audio Mixer: Alan Meyerson. Editor: Richard Whitfield. Unknown Contributor Role: Steve Jablonsky. Sigh -- more of the same crap from Harry Gregson-Williams, who remains indistinguishable from his fellow Hans Zimmer clones at Media Ventures. Gregson-Williams doesn't compose melodies so much as he assembles testosterone-fueled sonic collages that recycle the same core elements over and over again, and with the exception of some hamfisted Hong Kong-inspired accents, a nod to co-star Chow Yun Fat, The Replacement Killers sounds exactly like every other action score from the mid- to late-'90s: a deluge of synthesized cellos, male chorus, and metallic rhythms that explode from the speakers with the force and consistency of projectile vomiting. ~ Jason Ankeny
Further Disappointment As if not bad enough that this soundtrack does not contain the songs heard in the movie such as Tricky's She makes me Wanna die, on Tricky's album "Pre Millenium Tension",is perhaps a worse sin. His album version is not the same cut as what's in the movie. Instead of that driving beat is a song almost without a beat: its a slow song. It's time to burn a CD off the movie. If... I bought once "Replacement Killers" soundtrack and it were not the musics that I had heard on the film. Didn´t they make the Soundtrack with that eletronic music???
If I had heard first I had not bought it...

I too fell for rope-a-dope... I fell for this as well and was completely disappointed when I got home.
But I did manage to find the original track from the movie. "She makes me wanna die by Tricky" and the other one as well "Escape from the city of angels by Ithaka" These 2 tracks are beatin'... Email me if you guys want them. Submitted by Ezyurmynd (Chicago, Il.) Was This Review Helpful? YesNo 1 of 2 found this helpful.
I Love this Sountrack I went out and specially ordered a copy of this soundtrack a few years ago and listened to it every night before I went to bed. If you truely love music, you will love this soundtrack. It's full of musical genious. Someone stole this cd and I'm desperately trying to get ahold of another one. I really do miss this soundtrack. $10.19 No small part of the reversal of fortune enjoyed by the animated-film division of the Walt Disney company starting in the late 1980s and continuing through the '90s and into the 2000s was the decision to make movie musicals using proven writing and performing talents from the worlds of musical theater and, particularly, adult contemporary pop. The renaissance really started in 1989 with show music writers Alan Menken and Howard Ashman's music for The Little Mermaid, which resulted not only in a box-office hit, but also a multi-platinum soundtrack. An important next step occurred with Menken and Ashman's Beauty and the Beast (1991) -- the title song sung by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson -- producing a Top Ten pop hit. The rest was history, and that history is reprised on this disc, which presents the work of pop stars on subsequent Disney animated features including The Lion King (1994; Elton John's "Circle of Life," written by John and show music veteran Tim Rice); Pocahontas (1995; Vanessa Williams' "Colors of the Wind," written by Menken and show music veteran Stephen Schwartz); Mulan (1998; Christina Aguilera's "Reflection," written by Matthew Wilder and show music veteran David Zippel); Tarzan (1999; Phil Collins' "You'll Be in My Heart" and "Strangers Like Me"); and The Emperor's ...
