Back to the Future was only Alan Silvestri’s second major film score but it’s a classic. It provides a major orchestral framework for this over-the-top rambunctious but heart-warming roller coaster ride into the past, present and future of Marty Mc Fly and Doc Brown. John Debney and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra have captured the essence of the driving, exciting and exhilarating score of this wonderful adventure trilogy. Robert Townson is to be congratulated on crafting a fine representative compilation of the score. And for those who wish to delve more deeply into the structure of the music, Jon and Al Kaplan have provided an excellent in depth critique. I enjoyed this CD from start to finish and still felt I wanted more. For my money it’s on a par with John William’s epic work for Star Wars.
The tracks from Part III of the trilogy are from the original motion picture soundtrack and were conducted by Silvestri himself. A bonus is the score Silvestri wrote especially for the Back to the Future ride at Universal Pictures theme park. If you love movie music you’re sure to love this one.

Skip this poor excuse and stick with the origional 3 albums. 20 bucks for a CD that's been poorly re-recorded and lackluster. Wasted. Granted, this CD is a major blow towards BTTF fans who are looking fowards to this Trilogy release. The tempos are too slow, the drumbeats are weak, and instruments are echoy and muddy. My best tracks have to be the last few, because these are origional recordings taken from the BTTF III score CD. Worst of all, you don't get the hits, like 'The Power of Love', 'Johnny be Goode', or 'Beat it'. 'The Back to the Future Ride' track may be a plus, but it just doesn't save the CD from going to the dumpster. Sorry, but next time, they should just copy the tracks from the origionals and compile them. If you allready have the origional 3 soundtrack albums, than please don't bother with this one. I am a Back to the Future fanatic, but this CD just does nothing but dissapoint me. Submitted by James (Framingham, MA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

On Messy Century, their full-length debut for Mute, Liverpool-based Mountaineers seem to fall asleep at the wheel while listening to English folk music. Their lorry drifts lazily off the road, caroming into the Beatles tradition, motoring through a field of psychedelic poppies, and finally crashing through the wall of a corner shop full of secondhand mixers and monstrous extension chords. Hearing the jaunty melodies ...

Personnel: Bruce Springsteen (vocals, guitar, mandolin, harmonica, piano, Hammond b-3 organ, tambourine, percussion, background vocals). Audio Mixer: Bob Clearmountain. Liner Note Author: Bruce Springsteen. Director: Thom Zimny. Editor: Thom Zimny. Photographer: Danny Clinch. Bruce Springsteen is certainly no stranger to acoustic-based, folk-inspired music. He began his career as a post-Dylan troubadour, and he's been making "unplugged" albums as far back as 1982's NEBRASKA. He's already recorded Woody Guthrie material, so it's not a shock that he would release a tribute album to folk icon Pete Seeger. WE SHALL OVERCOME: THE SEEGER SESSIONS celebrates not just Seeger's musical influence, of course, but also the political stands the singer took, which obviously resonate with the famously progressive Springsteen. Unlike NEBRASKA, though, this is no bare-bones affair. The E Street Band may be absent, but Bruce tackles Seeger's tunes in classic larger-than-life Boss style, with a huge band that includes several string players, a horn section, accordion, and more. Incorporating everything from Dixieland to zydeco into the folk/blues template, Bruce stirs up a rowdy cauldron of Americana teeming with as much pure human passion as social import. WE SHALL OVERCOME is likely to be one of the biggest albums ever made under the "traditional folk" banner, but it's full of small surprises as Springsteen gets to the spiritual and musical heart of the matter. We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions is an unusual Bruce Springsteen album in a number of ways. ...
