| | Replacements Soundtrack CD (2 Customer Reviews)
Original score composed by John Debney. Producers include: Michael Mason. The original soundtrack to The Replacements mixes pop, rock, rap, and disco with excerpts of John Debney's score. Along with Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" -- which is one of the film's running jokes -- Young MC's "Bust a Move," Kelli Owens' Alanis-esque "I Don't Want to Be Your Girlfriend," and Gary Glitter's "I Will Survive" are among the soundtrack's pop highlights. As for the score, most of Debney's incidental music is a bombastic, pseudo-anthemic mix of sawing strings, booming drums, and keyboards that sounds like it's overcompensating for the film's lackluster action. While fans of The Replacements may enjoy the soundtrack as a souvenir from the film, the album doesn't really work on its own terms. ~ Heather Phares

I have one happy man here ! My hubby is a coach, President of many sports leagues, sports fanatic, etc., and the Replacements is one of his favorite movies. He had a birthday coming up the first part of February and as we were watching that movie yet "again" he commented he would love to have the sound track to it but could never find it. Well, I knew a place (here !) where I can find ANYTHING ! So, one little search, a few clicks of the buttons and the CD was his ! That just made his birthday and I want to thank you for ALWAYS having any CD I need and at good prices too ! I even like this CD too so now, if it comes up missing, we know to look in each other's truck for it ! Thanks again - you are good people ! Replacements Soundtrack
$12.29 GOOD TIMIN' features the last live show recorded by the original line up of the Beach Boys. The Beach Boys: Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Carl Wilson, Dennis Wilson, Alan Jardine. Recorded live at Knebworth House, England on June 21, 1980. Includes liner notes by Mike Grant. One of the last performances of the Beach Boys' original lineup was a cold and drizzly open-air show at Knebworth, in England, in 1980. Though obviously struggling with the adverse conditions (as well as the debilitated condition of both Brian and Dennis Wilson), the band performs a creditable set that stretches from its early days (a rousing "Be True to Your School") through its classic period with "Heroes and Villains," "God Only Knows," and "Good Vibrations," and later songs like the Bach-flavored "Lady Linda." This 1980 U.K. concert recording by the quintessential '60s sunshine pop group finds the Beach Boys at an important crossroads. They were nearing the end of their tether in their original formation; this would be the last concert they ever played in England with visionary founder Brian Wilson, whose personal problems would soon become too overwhelming for him to continue. For a band on the verge of falling apart, though, they sound surprisingly solid. Spot-on harmonies lead the way as they chug through a generous helping of their hits, from surf-friendly rockers ("Help Me Rhonda," "I Get Around") to the ethereal, sophisticated pop gems ("Good Vibrations," "God Only Knows") that made them legends. The latest of the legendary Beach Boys concerts, their appearance at Knebworth in June 1980 was the last time the core group (the Wilson brothers plus Mike Love, Al Jardine, and Bruce Johnston) appeared on-stage in Great Britain. Touring behind their recent Keepin' the Summer Alive LP, the Beach Boys appeared on a bill also including Mike Oldfield and Santana, doing a lengthy set that focused on their hits of the 1960s and early '70s, ...
