Varese's Absolutely the Best concentrates on Jose Feliciano's English-language hits, including his interpretations of "Light My Fire," "You Send Me," "Jealous Guy," and "In My Life." "Samba Pa Ti," "La Bamba," and "Feliz Navidad," however, reflect his Puerto Rican roots. "Rain," "The Last Time," and "Chico and the Man" are some of the other highlights of this collection, which is not as diverse or extensive as other collections of Feliciano's work, but is still worthwhile as a concise look at his career. ~ Heather Phares Absolutely The Best Music | List Price | $11.97 (You save $3.98) | | Category | Rock/Pop Albums, Rock CDs, International, Pop, Latin, Spanish, Contemporary Blues, Nostalgia, Vocal, Enhanced CD, Latin Pop | | Label | Fuel 2000 | | Orig Year | 2000 | | All Time Sales Rank | 47026 | | CD Universe Part number | 1044848 | | Catalog number | 061061 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Jun 06, 2000 | | Studio/Live | Studio | | Mono/Stereo | Stereo |

| | Miles Davis Miles Smiles CD (1966) Reissue
Absolutely The Best
$7.59 Miles Davis Quintet: Miles Davis (trumpet); Wayne Shorter (tenor saxophone); Herbie Hancock (piano); Ron Carter (acoustic bass); Tony Williams (drums). Recorded at the Columbia 30th Street Studio, New York, New York on October 24 & 25, 1966. Originally released on Columbia (9401). Includes liner notes by Anthony Tuttle and Bob Belden. Digitally remastered using 20-bit technology by Mark Wilder and Rob Schwarz (Sony Music Studios, New York, New York). With their second album, Miles Smiles, the second Miles Davis Quintet really began to hit their stride, delving deeper into the more adventurous, exploratory side of their signature sound. This is clear as soon as "Orbits" comes crashing out the gate, but it's not just the fast, manic material that has an ...

Personnel: Jim Sohns (vocals); Warren Rogers, Joe Kelley, Jerry McGeorge (guitar); Tom Schiffour (drums). Recording information: Universal Recording Corp., Chicago, IL. Although revisionist historians will claim that any Shadows of Knight best-of that includes "Gloria" will cover just about everything you'll ever need on this Chicago punk band (and usually acting as if Van Morrison's and Them's original was the actual hit -- wrong), true believers have long championed ...

Absolutely The Best
$15.89 This Dualdisc includes the entire album plus studio footage, making of the video, and inside look at the launch of the record and promo tour on the road in U.S. and UK.
This is a DualDisc, which contains a CD on one side of the disc and a DVD on the other. Duran Duran: Simon LeBon (vocals); Andy Taylor (guitar); Nick Rhodes (keyboards); John Taylor (bass guitar); Roger Taylor (drums). "It's like the Mamas & the Papas meets Kraftwerk." This line, more baffling than a lyric like "Shake up the picture, the lizard mixture, with your dance on the eventide," is how Simon LeBon described Astronaut to Rolling Stone. If it was meant to lower expectations of the first Duran Duran album to feature the Fab Five (meaning LeBon, Nick Rhodes, and the trio of unrelated Taylors) since Seven and the Ragged Tiger, it worked. Astronaut, rest assured, sounds nothing like that match made in hell. Instead, it resembles what the average lapsed Durannie might expect or even hope for -- a modern-sounding mixture of extroverted dance-pop and rock, with a couple of relatively subdued and introverted moments. No sound seems forced, and you can tell that the members are thrilled to be in the same studio with one another. Despite ...
