| | Ozark Mountain Daredevils Car Over The Lake Album CD (1975)
Bandera
$12.79 The Ozark Mountain Daredevils' third album for A&M continues their good-natured Southern chooglin' with hints of a newfound mid-70s AM pop vibe. Although it was recorded in Nashville, The Car Over the Lake Album has a distinctly Californian vibe on several tracks, particularly those written and sung by drummer Larry Lee, whose contributions could ride along "Ventura Highway" with any of America's ...

| | Rodney Crowell Small Worlds: The Crowell Collection CD (2002) (Import) Australia
Bandera
$20.09 The most comprehensive career overview to date of the solo recordings of the former Emmylou Harris Hot Band guitarist and songwriter. "Small Worlds" features his US country top 40 hits, including five consecutive #1's from his breakthrough album "Diamonds & Dirt". Tracks come from his years on Warner Brothers and Columbia and include the duet with ex-wife Rosanne Cash "It's Such A Small World", "She's Crazy For Leavin", "I Couldn't Leave You If I Tried", "After All This Time" and "Above And Beyond". Also includes his classics "Leavin Louisisana In The Broad Daylight", "Til I Gain Control Again" and "I Ain't Livin Long Like This". Over 77 minutes of music with a 16 page color booklet with detailed liner notes.
Small Worlds: The Crowell Collection 1978-1995 epitomizes why Rodney Crowell is a perfect example of the "new" country, a combination of styles creating slick pop music that would have had a tougher time in the '60s garnering the country & western play many of these songs achieved. There are lots of names lending their talents on these 21 tracks: Vince Gill, Dr. John, Emmylou Harris, Nicolette Larson, Booker T. Jones, Hal Blaine, and Russ Kunkel, among many others. "Let the Picture Paint Itself" borrows more from Elton John/Bernie Taupin's "Country Comforts" than it does from Jeannie C. Riley's "Harper Valley P.T.A.," though you can hear nicks of both melodies in this song, which is very different from both those tunes, and Roy Orbison lives again on Crowell's duet with former wife Rosanne Cash on the title track, "It's Such a Small World," as well as on "I Couldn't Leave You if I Tried" and "If Looks ...

| | Jack Blanchard & Misty Morgan Traveling Music CD (2009)
Bandera
$22.75 To many people Jack Blanchard & Misty Morgan need no introduction, but there will also be people out there who have never yet heard the music of this versatile and highly talented duo. Both born in Buffalo NY and relocating to Florida during their teens, they are excellent keyboard players and they met while working in nearby clubs in Hollywood FL. They fell in love and married in the mid sixties and around this time they began to develop their own unique harmonies. Misty has a beautiful rich alto voice which harmonises perfectly with Jack’s deep gravelly bass. Over the years they fought hard to retain the unique sound they had developed, frequently having to resist the efforts of record producers to bring them into line with the “Nashville sound”.Against all odds they ...
