R&B crooner Brian McKnight lends his usual smooth vocal style to some solid Christmas material. Though BETHLEHEM is his fourth full-length album, it is his first collection of holiday songs. Joining McKnight on this special seasonal release are a host of collaborators including Boyz II Men ("Let It Snow '98"), Mrs. Nat King Cole ("Silent Night") and Michael Sembello ("Bethlehem Tonight"). Opening the album with "Hail Mary," the McKnight Family Choir makes a stunning appearance. In a further bit of nepotism, McKnight's sons BJ and Niko appear on the heart-warming track, "It's All About Love." A sure "do-not-miss" for McKnight fans, but also something to check out for anyone with a preference for smooth pop/R&B vocalists.

As far as Christmas albums go, this is a great one to cheer you up for the holidays. The tracks take most of the same lyrics of the classic holiday favorites, and combines them with an original modern R&B feel. The reviewer that thought it sucked probably just hates Christmas and his own life as well.

AMAZING
WOW is all I can say about this album, if you truly can't understand the power of Brian's voice, a gift from God, being put to work for God, you are blinded from the light. This is a remarkable album and all the best to Brian. ;-)

In my opinion, this was the best Christmas release of that any artist put out in 1998. This man is so full of talent and substance. I listen to this CD year round. It's just a beautiful compilation of holiday and uplifting music.
