"Anytime" was nominated for the 1999 Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. "The Only One For Me" was nominated for the 1999 Grammy Award for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance.
Pricipally recorded at Backroom Studios, Glendale, California; Capitol Studios, Hollywood, California; Bennett House, Franklin, Tennessee; The Hit Factory and Crave Studios, New York, New York.
Brian McKnight's smooth vocals, melodic keyboard-based tunes and honest lyrics help define a style of R&B that has been scarce in the '90s. On his third set, McKnight continues to touch the heart with his soulful grooves and heartfelt ballads. Although a guest appearance from Mase on "You Should Be Mine (Don't Waste Your Time)" makes for a great pop hit, McKnight's true musical talent and vocal ability replace R&B's usual connection with hip-hop on ANYTIME. Songs like "Could" and "Anytime" use the slow love song formula while "Everytime We Say Goodbye" and "You Got The Bomb" remind listeners what smooth up-tempo R&B should sound like.

Brian Mcknight Anytime Songs Anytime Music Review Average Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews AMAZING This album has helped me get through 2 breakups. 'Anytime' and 'show me the way back to your heart' express the heartache of man who is still in love with a woman that has left him; and I can definately relate to that. This is one of those special albums that is timeless purley beacuse of the passion in the music Submitted by Simon (Melbourne, Australia) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

A Great Album Hey, I'm being honest. Brian McKnight's music is always great, and tracks like "Anytime" and "Show Me The Way Back To Your Heart" definately push this album up to the top of the R&B ranks. However, it in no way lived up to expectations set by 'I Remember You' a few years prior. The uptempo tracks (perhaps with the exception of the dancefloor hit "Don't Waste Your Time (You Should Be Mine)" sound fairly bland, and towards the end of the CD, though good tracks still reign, the musical focus is somewhat lost causing you to turn the cd off prematurely. A fantastic album, with fantastic songs, but definately not Brian McKnight's best. Submitted by a reviewer (Taipei) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Brian is at his best.....R&B's finest i dont know what to say...this album is far beyond the boundaries of scale...its off the meter...the dazelling tempos of this album melts your heart into your soul...if you really wanna get to know the best Soul artist at his maximum stamina...go and get this CD now, it'sa combination of timeless soulful meaningful balads, something to make you drown into sweet emotions, something to make up for a distant love, or even if you're heart broken, Brian's "ANYTIME" is your best sedative...believe me ya'll be pumping this for a very long time...or maybe for life.
