| | Gary Shelton Kissin' At The Drive In CD - Import Gary Shelton Discography of CDs
Contains material recorded before Gary Shelton changed his name to Troy Shondell.
This 24-track import is credited to "Gary Shelton aka Troy Shondell" because of the artist's chart success under the latter name. This cross-licensed collection of late-'50s recordings includes a variety of teen-oriented numbers such as the title track and "Teenage Love Call," as well as a few decent rockers such as "Maybe Later, Baby" and "Honey Bee." Shelton's music is essentially teen idol pop with dramatic vocals that aren't always appealing. A few songs are presented in dubbed and undubbed versions, with and without echo, or with alternate takes which diminishes the listenability of this already marginal music. The bottom line is that this is a package only for collectors, who will value the excellent liner notes, session info, pristine mastering, and otherwise exemplary packaging for which Bear Family Records is known. ~ Greg Adams
classic old-time rock 'n roll from 1957-59, feat. the songs "Goodbye Little Darlin'," "Be Honest With Me" & "My Hero" (from "The Chocolate Soldier"), inc. alternate takes of a few songs

Kissin' At The Drive In songs
$21.29 Jody Reynolds recorded for nearly a dozen different labels, which makes assembling a properly licensed anthology a complicated and expensive proposition. As a result, one has yet to appear, but several collections exist that rely on vinyl records as sources. Endless Sleep stands out for having the largest number of Reynolds' early Demon recordings, which include his two hits, "Endless Sleep" and "Fire of Love," as well as the rockabilly favorites "Beulah Lee" and "Daisy Mae." Both sides of an instrumental rock & roll single Reynolds recorded with the Storms are here, as well as 14 demos and unreleased recordings in a variety of styles from doo wop to barroom country-rock, some of which ...

Kissin' At The Drive In music CDs
$15.19 NICKEL CREEK is the appealing debut album by this quartet of young bluegrass/folk musicians. Mandolinist Chris Thile kicks things off with a display of virtuosity on "Ode to a Butterfly," negotiating the twists and turns of the melody with seemingly effortless abandon. All four musicians seem incredibly sure-footed and comfortable in each other's company. Bassist Scott Thile shines in an often under-appreciated role--his round sound and perfect intonation provide the harmonic underpinning and subtle rhythmic cushion that lends buoyancy to the ensemble sound.
The production values are exceptionally high on this project, reflecting the intense musicality ...
