Immolation's third album, Failures for Gods, follows in Morbid Angel's sinister, hyperactive, sometimes atonal footsteps, although with more than enough differences in their riffs and compositions to keep them from being mere copycats. The group's frequent, technically demanding time and tempo changes keep the listener jarred and off balance, which is exactly the desired effect, even if it makes the album seem rather monotonous to the uninitiated after a while. ~ Steve Huey
Recorded at Millbrook Sound Studios, Millbrook, New York in July 1998.

Failures For Gods album
$13.15 Words cannot do this album enough justice. This is a truly glorious metal release, certainly Death's finest hour, and easily one of the top metal albums of all time. The sheer ferocity and emotion that channels through each of the intricate, progressive guitar melodies shatters every low opinion of the American metal scene. When you combine Chuck Schuldiner's shrieking vocals (his eeriest performance ever) with the most talented, cohesive lineup yet, you get the definitive Death album. This album delicately mixes the best aspects of past albums Human, Individual Thought Patterns, and Symbolic and takes them one step further. The album is more aggressive, more progressive, and certainly more melodic. Therefore, when opener "Scavenger of Human Sorrow" kicks off, the complexity of the music suffocates the listener, allowing him no room to breathe. Even the instrumental piece, "Voice of the Soul," requires the listener's full attention so that he can grasp the raw emotion carefully woven within. ...
| | Hypocrisy CD (1999)
Failures For Gods CD music
$9.89 Back from the bowels of metal limbo comes the mighty Hypocrisy with their self-titled masterpiece. The Final Chapter was supposed to bid the metal community adieu, but it seems that the tremendous impact of that album has brought Peter Tagtgren and company out for another go. Crafting and delivering a slew of brand new, megalithic guitar and bass riffs, Hypocrisy has created a release that is "100 percent pure organic metal" (to quote the scholarly Mr. Schuldiner). From the opener, "Fractured Millennium," to the galloping Iron Maidenish "Fusion Programmed Minds," ...
| | Cannibal Corpse Tomb Of The Mutilated CD (1992)
Failures For Gods music CDs
$9.79 Released in 1992, Tomb of the Mutilated helped establish Cannibal Corpse's reputation as one of metal's goriest, most vile outfits. Boasting some of the sickest album art and song titles of all time, the band's attention-getting tactics worked perfectly and record sales soared. Cannibal Corpse then became one of the biggest names in the death metal genre -- just as ...

| | Boyd Bristow Cloudless Sky CD (2006)
Failures For Gods songs
$18.95 After a wait that could be best termed "a while," Boyd Bristow has made his first solo recording on Maxine/Audiophile. It is a celebratory collection of folk, R&B, country, gospel, and rock and roll. Featured are some of Boyd's best songs, along with excellent works from fellow South Dakotans Tom Peterson, Bruce Preheim and Dennis Westphal. Cloudless Sky was produced by master musician and recordist Chris Gage at MoonHouse Studio in Austin, Texas. Chris and Boyd go back "a long while." With the help of a cast of great players, and especially aided by the beautiful backing vocals of Christine Albert, they have created a deeply satisfying recording.Along with his own songs, Boyd has specialized in interpreting ...
| | Roy Holdren Fields Of Understanding CD (2006)
Failures For Gods album
$17.79 For the past thirteen years Roy Holdren has been commuting regularly from his home in Minnesota to Nashville to write with Nashville songwriters and pitch songs to major publishers and artists. He has studied with and learned from some of the best songwriters in the business. As a writer Roy received honorable mention two out of three years in the CMT/NSAI song contest and "Ten Cents at a Time" received honorable mention in the Billboard song writing contest. His parodies "If You're Gonna Play in Fargo (You've Gotta Have a Shovel in the Van) and "Vikings Yacht Club" have been heard on radio in the upper midwest and his song "Rural Electric" was cut by the Killer Hayseeds on their CD of the same name.Known in Minnesota as the hard hitting, lead singing drummer from bands such as Sweetwater, Massey Ferguson, Ringer and Alfalpha Males, Roy is known at Nashville writers nights for his original acoustic songs. From the tender "Book of Memories" dealing with alzhiemers to the raucous sing along of "Let's Sue Somebody!" Roy is ...
| | 4order The Journal CD (2007)
Failures For Gods CD music
$14.15 We have been composing this music in silence. It took us few years to find the best line up possible. It all came together in the fall of 2003. Now the silence is over. This is ghost metal. It contains elements of hard rock, progressive rock, heavy metal, flamenco and classical music. Our unique style is reinforced by combining two different voices and singing styles with combined vocal range near five octaves. Marie Helsingfors is mezzosoprano a real opera diva. When her angelic voice is combined to Ozzie Rissanen's raw metal voice the result is pure magic. If you're into opera metal you really love this. Our music is composed under gothic fantasy theme's. The first album is a gothic love story about man who falls in love with a vampire. Get's ...
