(6 Customer Reviews)
Perhaps his best album since the classic Abigail, King Diamond's The Spider's Lullaby is another inspired goth rock opera containing some of his most melodic and tightly written songs. The album is produced in typical King Diamond fashion, with loads of layered vocals, creepy atmospherics and state of the art Eurometal musicianship from the band. Underrated guitarist Andy LaRocque delivers plenty of hair-raising neoclassical solos, and newcomer Herb Simonsen is no slouch himself. Check out "From the Other Side" for a slice of near-perfect King Diamond craftsmanship. ~ Andy Hinds

the king into the 90,s Fistable, this was my favorite kd cd of the 90s, killer sound, interesting independent lyrics, except for the thrilling mini story of harry, the main character of the spiders lullaby. The king could step succesfully and un adulteraded into the decadence of the alternative music era.
A must have cd. Submitted by Ralvarez (El Salvador) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Spider's Lullabye album
$14.99 Following the incredible success of his second solo album, and first conceptual undertaking, Abigail, King Diamond set to work almost immediately on his next extravagant adventure in gothic storytelling with 1988's "Them." This time, he inserts himself among the story's characters, which also includes his mother, little sister, a haunted house (naturally), and, more unexpectedly, a batty ...

Spider's Lullabye songs
$10.69 This pretentious, epic, almost sappy concept record follows lyrical suit with King Diamond's previous offerings, however, House of God lacks the musical commitment of the artist's best recordings, Them and Abigal. Rare in his ability to manage a successful solo career with a long-time band partnership, King Diamond was very busy releasing numerous albums, both on his own and with Mercyful Fate in the '90s. Quantity might have taken precedence of quality as the prolific vocalist and songwriter ended ...

Spider's Lullabye songs
$15.59 This is the debut album by Vision, a Finnish metal band led by guitarist Lars Eric Mattsson.
In 1992 after having released 3 solo albums guitarist Lars Eric Mattsson decided it was time for a change. The singer of his 2 first albums, Tosse Jansson had left the band as Lars was recording his 1991 album which the all instrumental "Electric Voodoo". However this was not the way Lars wanted to continue making music, and a mutual friend and concert organiser suggested Lars should contact Conny Lind, a Swedish singer who had just returned from Los Angeles after a short period in Alex Masi's band MASI as well as having recorded with Sweden's Talk of the Town. In stepped also longtime Partners of Lars : Tony Mattsson - drums and Micke Ahlskog - bass. It did not take long before VISION were recording their first album and several record companies wanted to sign them. A worldwide deal was signed with Apollon Inc/FEMS of Japan. In Europe VISION was released by Roadrunner. The album did well in Japan and 3 videos were made. However it didn't take long before problems took over. Since melodic hard rock was really dead in USA the album was never released there ...

| | Necrophobic Bloodhymns CD (2002) Import
Spider's Lullabye CD music
$19.79 To be blunt, Necrophobic doesn't offer much innovation to the death/black/thrash fracas. But full-length number four, Bloodhymns, is a consistently entertaining listen, this Swedish (of course) outfit offering a nice combination of melody and aggression in the blood-spurting vein of Slayer and In Flames, proving that this group, toiling since the early '90s, may be one of the metal underground's overlooked talents. That being said, Bloodhymns, at heart, is a genre exercise, albeit a well-written and -performed one, a death metal battlefield strewn with quite memorable razor-sharp riffs and frosty melodies that make the band so obviously...Scandinavian. The production of (who else?) Tomas Skogsberg is thick 'n' meaty, guitars cranked, pummeling drum sound, generic death vocals resting calmly amid the sudden tempo changes and smartly conceived arrangements that rely on hooks and catchy phrases rather than the jarring, disjointed technical proficiency that too many death metal acts misconstrue ...
