SMPTe album for sale Product Description
SMPTe album for sale by Transatlantic was released Mar 21, 2000 on the Metal Blade label. The obvious label to put on this band is "supergroup," because it consists Roine Stolt of The Flower Kings, Neal Morse of Spock's Beard, Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater, and Pete Trewavas of Marillion, but that would imply that this is just another jam session. Despite the fact that these gifted musicians put this session together rather quickly, there is a natural cohesiveness and maturity that would suggest that they have been playing together for years. SMPTe CD music contains a single disc with 5 songs. ...See Full Description

Transatlantic: A excellent array of prog rock This is a great album by some of the most talented musicians I have ever heard. 'We all need some light' is an uplifting song with great lyrics. By a reviewer (Ann Arbor, MI, USA)
Any Progger Will Want This For any true progger who does not have this album, or their follow up Bridge Across Forever... you will never know what you've missed until you get them. By Blake (Hopewell Junction, NY)
A modem day supergroup Being a fan of Dream Theater, I raised an eyebrow when Mike Portnoy announced he has this side project. After some hesitation, I borrowed the CD from a friend for a listen. By galen2112 (Independence, MO USA)
Totally Solid Huge prog/DT fan, and Rush was my first big influence for guitar. This CD is really cool... Its kind of old school prog (Yes, Floyd, Genesis... )meets the Beatles and it works. By James (Minneapolis, MN)
Amazing performance by an all-star cast. I got to know the Transatlantic project through the Dream Theater website, a long time ago. When I listened to the CD, I was simply baffled. By Kristof (www.tofuterror.com)
