This was Blood, Sweat & Tears' apex, and a testimony to the best of the jazz/rock movement. Created by the legendary Al Kooper, the band was one of the major movers in the late-1960s rock scene. Though Kooper had departed after the debut album, this follow-up is bold, brassy, and adventurous, and the arrival of David Clayton-Thomas gave the band a strong singer and focal point. Eclecticism abounds, as an interpretation of an Eric Satie composition is followed by a version of Traffic's "Smiling Phases." Hit singles galore were culled from this record--"Spinning Wheel," "You've Made Me So Very Happy," and "And When I Die,"--not to mention a superb rendition of Billie Holiday's "God Bless The Child."
Their finest moment and a testimony to the best of the jazz/rock movement. Created by the legendary Al Kooper, the band was one of the major attractions throughout 1969. The album is bold, brassy and adventurous. Interpretations of ...

| | AC If You Want Blood You've Got It CD (1978) Remastered; Deluxe Edition
Goa Box: Trance 4 Motion music CDs
$9.59 This is a Hyper CD, which contains regular audio tracks and also provides a link to the artist's website with the help of a web browser.
Recorded live in 1978. Originally released on Atlantic (19212). Includes liner notes by Rich Bienstock.
The hard rock world got a close-up view of the power of AC/DC with the band's first live offering, IF YOU WANT BLOOD, YOU'VE GOT IT. Although the Australian rockers had three prior studio releases of undeniable crunch under their belt, it was this live document that captured the band in all its' chomping power chord glory. Distilling the blues and rock 'n' roll down to its barest structures of guitar/bass/drums leaves little room for error. Without heavy production techniques, keyboards, tape loops (or even an effect pedal, for that matter), the band takes to the stage with only bare-knuckle riffs and a floor shaking 4/4 beat.
And shake the floor they did. ...
| | Paul Van Dyk Politics Of Dancing, Vol. 2 CDs (2005)
Goa Box: Trance 4 Motion songs
$12.55 It differs little from his previous releases, but Paul Van Dyk's The Politics of Dancing, Vol. 2 is a satisfying argument that trance isn't dead and not even on life support. One bit of newness is the speed at which Van Dyk discards tracks on disc one's mix, a 17-song epic journey into uplifting, atmospheric dancefloor dreaminess. Theatrical stops and starts feature into every one of these blissful numbers, but Van Dyk keeps things moving at a pace such that the listener probably won't notice the gimmicky device is being overused. Otherwise, everything is tasteful with vocal numbers that don't get too precious and just enough Benny Benassi-styled electro to let you know this is 2005 and not 2000. Wayne Jackson's earthy vocals make Van Dyk's own "The Other Side" the album's song to remember while opening the more sprawling disc two. The drops followed by buildups are back for the second set, but the tracks are allowed to hypnotize longer and Van Dyk's ...

| | Kaze Spirit Of '94 CD (2003)
Goa Box: Trance 4 Motion music CDs
$12.69 Kevin "Kaze" Thomas is a versatile artist-producer who captures the spirit of groundbreakers like Run-DMC, Snoop Dog, and Wu-Tang Clan to promote an on-going, innovative hip-hop culture. Hailing from northern Virginia and eastern North Carolina, Kaze grew up in the 80's memorizing his big sister's mix tapes of hip-hop legends to lift himself out of an oppressive country lifestyle. As a student in communications at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, Kaze helped to create Hip-Hop Nation, an on-campus organization fostering the growth of local emcees, poets, DJs, dancers, and graffiti artists. His mission gained national attention in 2001 when Kaze was tapped to co-create, produce, and host the nationally syndicated television program titled Hip-Hop Nation: Notes from the Underground. The show captured the immensity of the culture's influence with viewers in over a hundred markets and linked Kaze's name with a movement of international interest.Kaze's production experiences led to the establishment of his own record label, Soul Dojo, Inc. The initial offering under that label is his Spirit of '94, a tribute to the legends of hip-hop featuring 15 tracks he both wrote and produced. Ingenuity and originality characterize his rhymes, while his words promote political consciousness, address personal trials, and celebrate the passion of hip-hop. The March 2003 release of Spirit of '94 set the standard for the label, claiming much critical acclaim and winning fans across the state. After selling thousands of copies independently, both on the streets and through mom and pop record stores, Spirit of '94 was picked up by BCD Global Distribution in October of 2003 for placement into Transworld operated record stores such as FYE. The single, "50/50 Amp", has received airplay on college and commercial radio stations across the country, charting with Billboard ...
