Digitally remastered by Joseph M. Palmaccio (Sterling Sound, New York, New York).
Reaching a pop apex not seen since 1980's UNMASKED, Kiss enlisted the production and engineering talents of Ron Nevison (Ozzy Osbourne, Heart) to help the band compete with the light metal faire that existed in 1987. The results are impressive, as the melodic crunch of CRAZY NIGHTS holds up to the band's previous classics.
"Crazy Crazy Nights" is an anthemic single that reached U.K. #4 and was their biggest single there. "Reason To Live" is one of Kiss' more tender ballads featuring standout vocals by Paul Stanley. Using prolific songwriters such as Diane Warren ("Turn On The Night") and Desmond Child ("Bang Bang You", "Reason To Live") to help achieve their goal, Kiss delivers accessible, chart friendly tunes that you can rock to. The record is melodic, with keyboards throughout. CRAZY NIGHTS is proof that Kiss could stay current with the competitive music scene as well as staying true to themselves. There are rockers and ballads that comprise a well crafted album by a legendary band.

Pure energizing rip roarin` fun!!!! I absolutely LOVE this album!!!!Anytime I`m down or just havin` a dreary lousy day, I put this baby in the cd player and everything just turns around!!!! It`s so up lifting , and promising that no matter how bad your life is , things will always get better. It talks about following your own nose no matter what other people think or say"My way", to letting you know that you have a"Reason to Live", and a dream and hunger inside that`s unique and different and some people just don`t understand. The guitars and pure essence is awesome !!!!! You really need to get this album!!!!Definately a life lifter!!!! Submitted by Jason ("Saegetown, Pa") Was This Review Helpful? lots of people say it's a weak CD but, erics preformance on crazy nights is up with other songs like "detroit rock city" and "love gun"
and the reason they dont play much materil off this CD anymore is that they feel as if this was Eric Carrs CD and just outta respect, .... so yes a very good CD Submitted by thefunkmaster_23 (Sandspit,BC,Canada) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
on there way down again they just lose their edge on this one, crazy nights is way to poppy, kiss is not a pop band, a rock band. vinnie helped them be a rock band on lick it up. no vinnie- no rock. bubblegum garbage. Submitted by halenroth84 (thunder bay, ontario) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Serious Power Rock Record... just got lost in the Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Poison craze for power ballads & pretty-looking men. Kiss was in the midst of it, but they blended 80's power pop-metal with some nifty 70's retro lyrics & hooks. They've gone from wanting to sex females right away (or not) to hanging out with them for a while, i.e.; I'll Fight Hell.. & Turn on the Night... Crazy Nights album
$6.49 Taking a dip in sales with their previous effort UNMASKED, Kiss decided to deliver a more hard-driving rock album and enlisted the aid of Bob Ezrin, the man who produced DESTROYER (their most successful studio album). Upon his hiring, Ezrin discarded the heavy rock demos Kiss had recorded and suggested the band experiment with a concept album, a Kissified version of THE WALL.
Disgruntled at the band's new direction, Ace Frehley only contributed one track, "Dark Light" (featuring a blistering solo), and aside from basic tracks, the rest of the record was completed without him. THE ELDER is a creative left turn for the band. Kiss brought in co-writers Tony Powers ("Odyssey", "The Oath") and Lou Reed ("Dark Light", "A World Without Heroes", "Mr. Blackwell") to contribute to this epic fantasy, and the result is some magnificent music. The American Symphony Orchestra is heard throughout the album, adding to the grand scale. The finale, "I" is a powerful ode to self-esteem, sung convincingly by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. THE ELDER ...

Crazy Nights CD music
$6.49 On the heels of the unusual MUSIC FROM THE ELDER, Kiss decided to return to their hard rock roots with CREATURES and the result is their heaviest-sounding album to date. Unfortunately, Ace Frehley (frustrated by his diminishing role in the group) departed the band prior to recording. He was replaced by Vinnie Vincent, who contributed some lightning-fast riffs.
From the monstrous drum fill that opens the record, it is clear that the grease painted warriors mean business. The title track is a classic Kiss number with a "take no prisoners" punch. "Rock And Roll Hell" is a tale of a musician's excessive lifestyle (loosely based on Frehley). "I Love It Loud" is a Kiss ...

Crazy Nights music CDs
$6.49 Digitally remastered by Joseph M. Palmaccio (Sterling Sound, New York, New York).
September 18, 1983 is a day that will go down in Kisstory. It was then that Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, and replacement members Vinnie Vincent and Eric Carr took off their signature makeup and revealed themselves on MTV. LICK IT UP was released, and a new chapter unfolded.
Using the same production team as CREATURES OF THE NIGHT, Michael James Jackson, Simmons and Stanley came up with the same bone crunching sound as CREATURES, but with a slightly more polished feel. "Exciter" kicks off the album with a machine gun riff, which leads into Gene Simmons proclaiming he's "Not For The Innocent". The title track ...

Crazy Nights songs
$6.49 Digitally remastered by Joseph M. Palmaccio (Sterling Sound, New York, New York).
With personnel changes and neglect from a key member of the band, it's amazing ANIMALIZE turned out as well as it did. This record shows Kiss was able to rise above all the groups who copied a style of music that Kiss originated.
After LICK IT UP, "creative differences" pushed lead guitarist Vinnie Vincent out and speed demon Mark St. John in. Without missing a lick, St. John was able to fill Vincent's shoes admirably. Also around this time, Gene Simmons decides to try his hand at acting, starring in such films as "Runaway" ...
| | Kiss Asylum CD (1985) Remastered
Crazy Nights album
$6.49 Principally recorded at Electric Lady Studios, New York, New York. Includes liner notes by Robert V. Conte.
Digitally remastered by Joseph M. Palmaccio (Sterling Sound, New York, New York).
Following the departure of Ace Frehley in 1982, a revolving door of lead guitarists began which concluded with Bruce Kulick, whose tenure in the group lasted longer than Ace's. Bruce had played with a younger, harder edged Michael Bolton and his style of speedy yet emotive playing fit right in with Kiss' style.
Produced by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, ASYLUM retains the raw power of the previous 80's Kiss records, yet also contains a pop element that those records did not. The music is tight, and lyrically, well, if sex sells, then Kiss cashed in. While "King of the Mountain" and "I'm Alive" continue ...
| | Kiss Hot In The Shade CD (1989)
Crazy Nights CD music
$6.49 Continuing in the same vein as many of Kiss' '80s releases, HOT IN THE SHADE picks up where CRAZY NIGHTS left off. Although a pop metal record, this album benefited from Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons taking a more organic approach, as opposed to the Ron Nevison-produced, keyboard-laden NIGHTS. The technique works, as this is a straight-ahead hard rock album with minimal keyboards, but with effective touches of acoustic guitar and brass.
Leadoff track "Rise To It" is typical Paul Stanley fare: upbeat, guitar-infested ...
| | Still Screaming/This Side Up CD (1993)
Crazy Nights music CDs
$10.65 Though known primarily as Dave Grohl's first band of note, Scream in fact released its finest material years before Grohl's entry into the band. After the primary wave of D.C. hardcore -- SOA, Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Government Issue -- crashed noisily to the shore, kids from the surrounding suburbs, attracted by the sound and fury of the city center, began formulating sounds predicated certainly on the first wave, but with enough outsider flair to be considered unique. Scream was one such band, and probably the finest. Boasting the incredibly gifted vocalist Pete Stahl and his brother Franz on guitar (the two later formed Wool), and rounded out by the rhythm section of Kent Stax and Skeeter Thompson, ...
