Magician's Birthday songs Product Information
Magician's Birthday album for sale by Uriah Heep was released Oct 25, 1990 on the Mercury label. Uriah Heep's 1972 release, THE MAGICIAN'S BIRTHDAY, followed in the same direction as its predecessor one year earlier, DEMONS AND WIZARDS--mystical lyrical themes are merged with heavy guitar riffs and prog-rock organ/synth explorations. Sonically, THE MAGICIAN'S BIRTHDAY is a tad more rough around the edges than DEMONS (keyboardist Ken Hensley is given more of a free reign on this album as well), but it's still unmistakably Uriah Heep. The album closing, ten and a half-minute title track is a bona fide Heep epic (with many mood shifts), while "Sweet Lorraine" catches the band at their most rough and rocking. Magician's Birthday CD music contains a single disc with 8 songs. ...See Full Description

||An icon of '70 hard rock|
Uriah Heep was one of the most important hard rock bands in the seventies. Highly recommended CD.

||A strong solid release|
Though not as impressive as "Demons and Wizards", "The Magician's Birthday" is still a strong release that continued Uriah Heep's early 70s successful streak.

Loved it since i first heard it, still have the original vinyl! Great moody guitar riffs, changeovers, steps, and drops! Lyrics were something you had to really listen to-to follow the tale of the wizards quest.
