Crusade album for sale by Bluesbreakers / John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers / John Mayall was released Oct 25, 1990 on the Deram label. The final album of an (unintentional) trilogy, Crusade is most notable for the appearance of a very young, pre-Rolling Stones Mick Taylor on lead guitar. Crusade songs Taylor's performance is indeed the highlight, just as Eric Clapton and Peter Green's playing was on the previous album. The centerpiece of the album is a beautiful instrumental by Taylor titled "Snowy Wood," which, while wholly original, seems to combine both Green and Clapton's influence with great style and sensibility. Great British blues
Top-notch John Mayall, which means top-notch British blues. Mayall is in fine form on harp and vocals, doing definitive versions of classics like Albert King's "Pretty Woman" as well as his own songs.

CLAPTON, GREEN... NOW TAYLOR
After 'Blue Breakers ' w/Eric Clapton, and 'Hard Road' w/Peter Green, John Mayall knew he'd have a tough time finding a British guitarist to fill such shoes.

mick taylor's finest hour!
This album is why the stones hired Mick Taylor. The liner notes states Crusade as John Mayall's personal favorite, it's now mine as well.
