Malmsteen's playing on the follow-up to the epochal Rising Force is slightly more raw and aggressive, but the most notable difference is the addition of lyrics on many of the songs. By his own admission, Malmsteen isn't much of a lyricist, and his frequent use of occult and pagan imagery (demons, Vikings, and so on) isn't as effective at producing a dark, gothic mood as his compositions and guitar playing are. Still, those aspects of the album are vital and stimulating, making Marching Out a worthwhile listen. ~ Steve Huey

Yngwie Malmsteen Marching Out Songs Marching Out Music Review Average Rating: (4.4 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Pure Malmsteen, young and hungry. As a long time Malmsteen fan, I have felt somewhat disappointed by some of his latest recordings, which sound too sterile to me, even if YJM plays as fast as ever. As strange as it might sound to somebody who is new to Malmsteen, speed is not everything in his music, there is drama, anger and delicacy in the right places in some of his best music, and Marching Out includes some of his best songs ever. I consider this a 4 stars record only because I have always thought that he should have included at least one more instrumental song; Marching Out was written a few months after the release of Rising Force, and Yngwie was at the top of his creativity, hungry for success and inspired by the accolades earned by his first record, but other than that small complain, there is not much to criticize about this CD, if you want to hear Malmsteen playing as fast, heavy and furious as he has ever had, get this CD. "VIKING" is worth the whole album!! "I'M A VIKING" is Malmsteen's best song!!! get this album and listen this song first. The rest is OK. Submitted by Ahmed Hernandez Zahuna (Mexico City, MEXICO) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Yngwie plays with feeling on this one Shredding just to shred aside,
all I can say is that when I heard the title cut Marching Out (last cut on the album)years ago, my jaw just about dropped off!!
This song is so loaded with feeling, its worth the price of the CD alone.
I can play this 3 minute cut over and over and am amazed at the bends, phrasing, tremolo and raw heart in this simple minor key jam that I just wish YM played this way all the time.
And they fade the track out!!! arrgggghh
The rest of the album is ok too, but that track will stick with ya forever.

In 2002, guitar acrobatic extraordinaire Yngwie Malmsteen was aboard an airplane in Japan and received the surprise of his life. As folklore goes, Malmsteen allegedly made offensive comments regarding homosexuality. A fellow passenger took offense to the comment and proceeded to throw a glass of water on Malmsteen. This sent ...

Marching Out
$22.05 Death metal veterans Disbelief have had a tough time making headway in a country -- Germany -- where melodic power metal reigns supreme. Had they been from Sweden, where the opposite status quo exists, who knows where they would be by the release of Spreading the Rage, their fifth album. But Disbelief doesn't play your run-of-the-mill death metal either -- almost, but not quite. No, although reliably enraged in their delivery, memorable offerings such as "Ethic Instinct," "Addiction," and the title track are all performed at about half the normal speed of most death metal out there. And yet they're also a good bit faster than the lumbering shuffle common to the doom/death sub-genre. Call it a tenuous and unorthodox compromise, but it's one that allows for an abundance of textured guitar harmonies to be stacked, layer upon layer, into densely melodic numbers ...
| | Noble Rot CD (2006)
Marching Out
$12.65 “Ever since I was young, I wanted to be stuck in hot, sweaty, smelly, overpriced, under-air-conditioned clubs with no ventilation,†says bassist/lead singer Rich Hoss when you asked him how Noble Rot got started, “We're taught from an early age in America to follow our dreams.†And so Noble Rot did, once they settled on their current lineup in January 2006. They sealed the deal with a killer show in Rich’s basement—a hot spot of sorts for underground rock shows. Since then, Hoss, along with guitarists Rodrigo Van Stoli and Adi Luv and drummer Wes Narron, have played countless such clubs while hard at work on their self-titled debut album. Members of Noble Rot work collaboratively on and off stage; sharing writing duties and influences as well as beer (though it’s rumored that Adi Luv handles the ladies solo). They capture the pure rock of Motorhead, the sleaze of the Hellacopters, and the punk snark ...

Marching Out
$8.55 Яudy Quazar is a demon built of high energy rock that attacks people with its five fanged tooth. The rock demon Яudy Quazar is summoned by four men hailing from the Niagara Region in Ontario, Canada. Each of these men brandishes a specially tailored and differently shaped suit and tie with an attached weapon of demise. Jives attacks evil elves and waitresses with his golden voice which was stolen directly from Satan's underpants. He has held this role for approximately three years, when it was decided by the other members of the band of hellraisers that 4 is a more round number than three. Яod shoots invisible lightning sticks of pure mid-range horror through the eyes of anyone who accidentally looks. As a founding member of Яudy Quazar, he slashes and raves like a lunatic. Sometimes he kicks all of the other members while summoning a specific rock demon that will set the mood of an entire milennium. And can OFFICIALLY play guitar longer than anyone else on the planet. The ground rattles, your hair starts to move ...
